Extended Warranty on RS6 C6

Just took the plunge and bought a July 09 RS6 C6 with 64k on the clock.

I have looked at 3 products and would appreciate feedback as to which would be best value for money..

Audi Extended (Mondial) - 'Comprehensive Component' based on a 15k cap with 0 excess = £2569.67/pa
Warranty Direct - 'Extra Care' that includes Wear and Tear based on a 10k cap with 0 excess = £775/pa + £70 to do a pre warranty multipoint check.
Warranty Wise - Was so complicated and offered so many variants - Approx £2k/pa

It appears that Warranty Direct are recommended but would appreciate feedback regarding experience of any of the 3 listed above..

Thanks

Joe

Anything else is likely to be chocolate fire guard territory.

Me too!

Mondial. I have probably had in excess of £2k work on my RS6 done under extended warranty this year.

Yes, but to be fair that one was your own fault because you went and had the work done before having it authorised.

No I didn't authorise it, the company dispite being told by unit 20 that the box was covered by WD (and if any fault was found WD had to be informed) decided to fix it :bash:

Well then it still isn't WD's fault, I wouldn't take that at all. The gearbox company would be receiving no payment.

Thanks Guys

I guess everyone has had differing experiences.

Trouble is Mondial are literally 3.5 x the price - so where i fail to understand this, is why the disproportionate difference??

Despite this, WD assure to cover wear and tear as well as mechanical failure..Something isnt right here..

WD will happily take ur money and cover everything under the sun.
But different story when it comes to claiming...

Owning an RS without Audi warranty is utter maddness.

So is having 572 BHP when you could have 700 BHP for a few hundred quid, and then they cancel each other out. What to do.

Joe i would double check your prices for the Audi one - i have just bought mine, mileage capped at 15k a year, comprehensive (not named components) £0 excess for £1647.83

I would guess the price you have there is for unlimited mileage??

£100 excess = £1340.55
£250 excess = £1033.27 for capped mileage
I cant imagine it being any different for you?

Mine is also a 09 with 42k. It was already out of warranty when i got it so i had to wait a month before it became active, no inspection required.

Hopefully that makes your decision a little easier.

No brainier then.

As for wd be v. Careful with this wear and tear business. You'll find that they'll only cover wear and tear if it leads to a sudden failure. So on my old b5 rs4 they wouldn't pay for worn camshafts as there was no sudden failure of them despite then needing changing. Waiting for a sudden failure on those in wd's eyes would have meant waiting for them to fail to the extent the engine went pop!

Mondial.

Yours might be more expensive due to mileage...even more reason to extend

2.6k really isn't much when your car does 8mpg around town
