Just out of interest, how much did this trip cost you? I'm 30 this year and need to scratch my 'ring itch!!

Did you get the ferry? And hotel cost? Or is there somewhere I can find info on going? Never looked into it you see.

Not 30 till May next year like but might consider this year or next for the ring.

Was back at the ring yesterday. This time unfortunately not for pleasure.

Setoff from dover hotel 6am for the 8am ferry. Drove to the ring for 4pm. Loaded, drove back for the midnight ferry. Car on the drive by 4am. 875 miles and 18 hours of driving in one day. Safe to say my mate owes me a favour...

My Track SEAT Ibiza blew up on the ring but luckily I bought wkend roadside cover for £27 which repatriated it to the UK!

Aye it's Doms.

Looks like it's spun a bearing after an oil pump failure - something on the bottom end sounds very unwell. It runs so the top end is ok - but there's no oil pressure and a lot of clattering from the bottom. Oil pickup pipe most likely original cause as they clog on the S3's, then oil pump failure, then buggered bearings. Hopefully the warranty company pick up the tab for him.

In other news, I now need tyres. Anyone got any last words before I pull the trigger on PSS's?

i switched from dunlops to Pirelli's and they were night and day difference! Not tried the Michelin PSS but the Pirelli pzeros are highly recommended

Thanks Andy. The dunlops are <beep> that's for sure.

I had the PSS's on the RS4 (swapped from eagle f1's) and the difference was staggering even through the winter they were amazing. I'm hoping for the same transformation on the 6

indeed, MSS are amazing tyres, I just couldn't find any for sale at the time as everyone was out of stock. so let us know where you source them from

Now down to £209.50 fitted each from Tyre Shopper so I think it's time I pulled the trigger!

£867 all in, including tracking. Cant complain at that.

Not to mention shopping through quidco gets me 4% of the pre-vat price (£28.90) back.
