Which dealer, Golf? BMW always sort me out I haggle and pay less than indie, VW have even done it for my sister's Golf. Audi are beyond <beep>. Even though I went dealt and collected a brand new Audi A8 from them on behalf of a family member they couldn't even give me a lift down the road when my C5 went in, then they didn't have the parts even though I'd booked 7 days in advance, and then four days after got the parts in but they were the wrong ones. I work for Citroen and the service here is so much better, both for buying and servicing. Anyway, if you can tell me what dealer is competitive that'll be good, Listers won't budge.

Any dealer.
Just ring up, speak to service manager, give them a bullshit quote, ask them to match it.
Bust some balls lad and stop being a fanny, you'll be surprised how much margin they have.

I do that all the time and always pay indie or less at main dealers, even knocked up a spreadsheet with a quote from an 'indie' once and had the main dealer match it. Listers Audi seem to have a no price match policy however. I told them I'd been quoted £130 and they have taken the labour down to £300 now from the £483. It's the assistant service manager I've been dealing with. I fell out with their service manager after they broke my A8 a few years back.

On the plus side, some of the admin girls at work are heading to the DVLA tomorrow so if they have five or less cars to register they will get my plate assigned, five or more and they will have to re que.

LOL!

Gotta apply some common sense here Amar - almost £700 is diabolical - they probably saw the ceramics and thought "happy hour" :bigblink:

Ring around mate - Northampton charged me around £200 to change oil/filter and fit plugs on my V10

When i tried getting Northampton to service mine just for an oil change they told me i could not bring my oil due to some EU law, so i called bedford Audi who are the same group and they let me bring my own, they said i would need to supply 10ltrs. i supplied this and there is still about 2ltrs left in one of the bottles they gave back.

So if bedford Audi would of supplied me the oil they would of charged of 10ltrs but only use 8ltrs, they would of robbed me blind at nearly £20 per ltr.

Dont trust any. no consistancy which dont give me faith.

Read above. I always pay indie rates or less at main dealers. I'm the king at manipulating their price matching policy to my favour. Doesn't seem like my local Audi dealers care, though, unlike BMW and Veedub who are fantastic. I had to e-mail them as that way it's logged on the system and their manager/DP should bollock them for not answering a query, they didn't get back to me via the phone.

Amar, you can still do that but DVLR don't open on Sunday's. You'll find the full instruction how to go about it from your new reg certificate.
You can print the V6? form from DVLA online, fill it in as well as your new reg doc accordingly and ask a friend to take it to DVLA... Bingo my friend.
Classba, admin at work are going to the DVLA office tomorrow. They are taking my docs. Will I able to swap the plates around that night? I've filled out the V62 and have the new keeper supplement with MOT.

Yes Amar as soon as the admin is back with the new Tax disc and MOT. Make sure you also fill in your new reg doc as well and sign everything and don't forget to tell your insurance of the new reg number.

Guys, having had a look at the oil left in the boot it looks like the is nearly 3.5ltrs of OIL.

so if your going in for an oil service then please question why 10ltrs would be needed.

im going to send an email asking why..

Done a tank of fuel in it today, love how quick and smooth the gear change is, average MPG for today has been about 15, lots of motorway driving in three figs, but nice Fosse Way stretches and a bit of town driving too. Need to do another little mission in it tonight which means I'm going to have to fill it up AGAIN! Couldn't put my plate on with the new keeper supplement as the car is now registered in my name with the DVLA, so the new keeper supplement is redundant, but the new V5 isn't here yet, work were supposed to take it but forgot, I don't know why something like this can't be done online in this day and age. Still loving it though, the adaptive cruise is a joy and works so well. :kissmyrings:

Are you tired of having to fill it up so often?

Not yet, but if I drove it everyday it probably could get a little silly. For the time being I just love it too too much to get cross with it. I've done about 1300-1400 miles in it now. Work have given me a 62 plate Picasso diesel, and am getting a 13 plate one in March. So I am alternating between this, and a Picasso, there's only one of them I am getting tired of at the moment. :boohoo:
