Watching this thread with interest! I see no one has made any mention of weight?
On the RS6 there must be 3 to 4kg unsprung weight saved per corner?
I would be interseted to see your new set up on the scales.

Diesel with ceramics? Surely not.
Oil burner indeed. I have a 180 mile round trip commute when I go to the office. Last Range Rover blew up at 161K miles, just in warranty. RS6 isn't good for that sort of duty. Fancied Cayenne, as a commute SUV, but not with the 3.0 diesel. Now with the 850nm Audi 4.2 D V8, it's the best option. I did actually order in September last year, there's a long wait list. Was on for a May vehicle, then deferred mine until June to get some MY14 options.

In the meantime putting a few miles on a firm's Vivaro. Great fun. You can tool about claiming times are hard (which they are) and people believe you more than when you rock up in German/RR hardware, you also get treated very differently in a van than you do in German/RR. They are slighly more fussy with valet parking the van than something more conventional however, also less happy to have a van in LHR T3 parking for a week or two than a regular motor.

Just the fronts. :thumbs:

Never had a problem with the rears. Just the fade on the fronts when pressing on. Which is exactly the point of an RS6. Which becomes disconcerting when say hacking between Bath and Poole (not the regular commute) through the countryside to get back in time to see the children to bed, and there's no brakes left until they've cooled down again.

More than that I'd say. To be honest you don't feel it on the road. I'd happily defer to other professional test/drivers with ceramic'd C6s on here, if they can tell on a road hack. I've previously tried to mitigate the poor OEM non standard steels, and had bells made for some Willwood discs;

Whilst these were more fade resistent, they were more prone to thermal shock/gradients and cracked after less than 5K miles of hard work. When I fitted these, I was amazed at how heavy the stock steels were. I think there's around 10KG saving per front corner with ceramics.

As others have pointed out, it's less than using a large coniferous to slow you down, which is the worst outcome.

Also longer term, not incomparable with aftermarket upgraded steels, I'd venture to suggest.

Nice choice there, I had a customer in a few weeks back with a 12 reg Turbo one, awesome car. Changed all the lighting on it and what a difference it made :)

New cayenne is an awesome piece of machinery, I'm toying with replacing my outgoing X5 with one
1*** hp TTE C6 rs6 saloon and the ultimate WB B5
