It's a massive "No" now, it's too busy for a "track day style event", even a charity one. I know because I asked the Station Commander during a conversation with him shortly before I left the RAFNobby wrote:Does anyone know someone who works at Brize Norton? A few years back they had a charity day where loads of bikers and cars where allowed to go on site and do 1/4 mile times, then continue up to the main runway and wait for clearance to go. It was still being used throughout the day and when you got the ok you went out in little groups.
I managed 165 in the wet (in a previous car)..... massive spray behind the cars so couldn't see much![]()
Don't know how long the runway is though.

Most of the runways in the UK aren't long enough to be absolutely sure of breaking 200mph, especially when you include the braking area you need as well as the acceleration area. There's a list on Wiki (I think) with the distances and Heathrow had the longest (including RAF ones). If you can hit high 190's at Brunters I think Heathrow may be the only one that stands a reasonable chance, the rest would be far too close to say for certain.
