So I thought I'd keep this thread going as a bit of a blog.
If/when I come to sell, people can see everything that's been done to the car etc.

So what have I done so far;
- Bought some plastidip, sprayed the front grille black (with said plastidip) along with much of the surrounding area
- Removed plastidip as I knew a wrap would look a lot better and would be more durable to wear and tear
- Fitted a facelift start/stop button
- Cleaned up the exhaust tips
- Fitted new spark plugs

What's to come;
- Modification to standard exhaust by wrapping 1 of the 2 inner pipes in each backbox - 6th August
- Trip to MRC for Stage 2 treatment - 22nd August

Here's a couple of photos;

Looking good.

Can you explain the "exhaust mod" please?

Cheers Jules

Thanks Jules.

Regarding the exhaust, have a look at Paul's website that gives more information about the process.

Sorry Jules, I was meant to enclose a copy of the link to his website; http://www.exhaustmods.co.uk

He has a very good reputation with BMW owners and I don't see a huge difference between the exhausts.

I'm interested as to what Paul is going to mod, I take it you have the Miltek exhausts when you bought the car?

Yes but it's exhaust system dependant, I suppose it's doable but I think it will only be an audible mod rather than performance, still I'd like to hear if it is worth doing. You are the sacrificial lamb

Ha, I certainly am but I think it will give me the audible pleasure I'm looking for without sacrificing more money.

I didn't choose this for performance, just noise.

If you look at the Backbox delete thread, Bhav opened his up and did a similar thing and the interior elements are almost identical to that found in the BMW's.

I will be keeping a close on how you progress with this, no one can blame you to get the most out of the exhaust system for hightened audible pleasure.

My New Daytona Avant

Post by longman h » Thu Aug 25, 2016 11:51 am

A little update.

I took the car up to MRC for Stage 2 treatment along with the gearbox map and warm start and I'm very pleased.

The car was originally running on a generic Superchips map with filter and secondary decat pipes added after the remap.
This was only producing circa 630 ponies.

The car is now producing 740 stallions and 1050Nm of torques.

The only thing I've noticed when starting the car from cold is that it shakes a little at idle.
Is this normal??

That's not the car - it's the ground.....

Supposedly according to Audi anything above 900nm will adversely effect the box

Mines been running mapped at nearly 1100nm for around a year now, its seen the nurburgring... a trip to france (leMans) and a thrashing round Oulton Park and Croft circuit, i have no issues at all.
Still smooth and precise.
I have had the fluid changed around 5000 miles ago mind, so will be doing the fluid again when i do another 10k... well thats if i dont end up doing silly things before then!
