Dealers know when it's mapped. When mine was in the tech said there is a note on there from a few years back to say it's there, they keep it quite and when something goes wrong, good luck. My mate is a tech at bmw and he said the same, it's detected but they keep it on system, when someone wants a claim on an engine it's void.

What if you have a "friendly" tech?....would his call be overridden by Audi Uk?..(when they detected map)

What are the options for warranty for a mapped car that are "above board"?

It's when it's plugged in Chris, on modern cars all diagnostics is done via head office where the bofins work so I doubt the tech would be but it's a case of trying.

I bought my car from an Audi dealer and they supplied the warranty and I claimed on it plenty of times and nothing was said.

There are tuned cars on here that have had warranty claims, take the punt, don't tell them it's been modded and take it out. Look into component ones also that they can't blame the map on. When I renewed mine it had mods, if you tell them they won't cover it so keep it hush.

Well......the car is back at the dealers on a tow truck...

1. Power steering failure
2. Clunk front suspension
3. Clicking still present from wheels...

When will I ever get to enjoy this fecking car!!!

Don't loose the will to live!

Knocking from suspension will be worn top arms/bushes...mine failed its MOT for it....symptoms are knocking and a "loose" feel through steering wheel.
2.1tonnes takes it's toll on bushes etc.

Clicking is wheel bearings....I got mine done out of warranty for free from dealer..or they can be "regreased" although probs not a permanent fix.


Can't comment on power steering although I think there's another guy on here who has also had issues recently?

There was a C6 RS 6 at Jack Barclay that had the power steering failure, it was engine out and a £7,000 bill IIRC, and I am 80% sure that is correct. It was the reason mine was delayed as the tech was waiting to finish that one off before they were able to book mine in, think the rack or some part associated with it was on back order so it was on the ramp for a while... Hope you're not waiting too long until you're back in it, if it is any consolation, I won't have mine for 3/4 weeks.

Cars back and it was......wait for it....power steering pipe leading to some rad!..

Anyway when i got the car back last week, i drove it and......Wheels are still clicking...oil light on again...now theres a Clonk that is produced from D/S/F wheel..

The plot thickens as its booked in again! WTF. argggggghhhhhhhhh helppppppp

I need help!!!

wheel bearing click hasent stopped... Now theres also a Clunk everytime i turn the steering wheel or use the brakes from the front drivers side...

I have just been told by A Audi dealership that there not covered under the 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' but are covered under the "original Warranty!!

Anyhow where do i stand??? i need recommendations and possible dealer near me (East London) that wont stress me with BS!

The wheel bearings are covered under extended warranty, I know, as mine were done under extended warranty.

Take it to Jack Barclay Audi in Wandsworth, or advise them to show you where it says bearings aren't covered, speak to their warranty administrator directly and ask him if he has put the question to Monial.
