The C7 strip only has one light source also, I retro fitting that system into a 2016 C7 that never had the light pack for a customer and it's the rod with the 1led bulb on the end.

What makes it brighter (if any brighter) is the formation of the acrylic and the cuts that are moulded into it, they make the light travel further and keep it flowing, the main bulk of the light will be further out (where the door opens) as the led source sits up,in the corner where a conventional door lock on older cars would be. It's 1 led.

I have part numbers for the C7 rods if you still want to try? They are £16 for 4 so not breaking the bank for some R an D.

Hmmmm pli know your the man when it comes to led install trups and my car has the trups led kit but I'm sure when I checked a c7 rs6 ( the performance one ) 66 plate i think it had multiple led's in the strip...... unlike the c6 with just the one light source as you say.
