I paid my buddy at the exhaust place round the corner from my unit £50 to cut my back boxes out and £50 to cut my secondary cats out on my first RS..... that was a good day.

The bends are shocking and the welding looks to be average at best too!

After reading through this post i decided to have this done.

A much better sound than stock. Full throttle accelerations sound the business, and very minimal / no drone at crusing speed.
An inexpensive mod and personally I think it sounds better than offerings from milltek.

Best thing about it all is it all looks stock as opted for gutting the mufflers, so all orginal hangers and mounts for exhaust have been used.

Here are some pics

Had the wheels powder coated in Satin black. Quite happy with them, no need to clean them as often and makes the car look more aggressive.
Leaving all the chrome bits as they are, thintk they contrast quite nicely.

Next on the agenda is the brakes!

Ah good work Bhav.

Am I right in saying that you've removed all the material from inside the back box then??

So the pipes within the back box are still there but everything else has been removed?

I like the black wheels with the original chrome. Lots of people putting on the black look, but sometimes it looks a bit too much. That looks great.

Stu - The cold start is very loud, you literally have to shout to be heard from 2m away if you are stood at the back (tested it when I did mine). You can get it mapped "out" but all that does is reduce the time spent on the cold start cycle from 30-45 secs to 5 secs but it'll still be loud for those 5 seconds.

Alternatively you could get the whole SAI system removed. It's just an air pump & 2 combi-valves which'll need blanking and you get less than 1 second of "cold start" noise.
