Righty ho. I have acquired the 3 update CDs for MMI and the 2015 DVD for the maps so now just need to find the time to perform the update.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes as I have limited time in the UK and want to try and slot it in one morning.

I did the 2015 Navigation DVD at the weekend and it took maybe 2 minutes. Easy to do.

Yes, I guess the DVD is easy enough, but what about the MMI update? I was led to believe this took quite some time?

I believe it does too and best bet is to have a trickle charger to make sure the power to the vehicle is constant. I haven't got the MMI update discs yet but I'm told it takes a while.

I would be good if someone could let us know what this 'while' equates to in SI units

It varies depending on how much needs updating (i.e if you'be got earlier or later MMi firmware) but anywhere from 10 minutes to 1hr plus. Mine is version 5140 and it would take around 30-45minutes to update to 5570 I've been told.

I've just come in from my garage and have managed to update the MMI to 5570. I had Bluetooth fail on me again today so I got hold of a trickle charger and started at 7pm. After following the instructions I saw the whole system update in about an hour. Job done! Steve - thanks for the offer again. I'm sorted. Cheers.

They are quite widely available on the internet.

If anyone wants the MMI update CDs I can post copies. I might also be able to throw in the latest Nav map DVD too :bigblink:
