Then mapped it's just mental a huge family estate with over 700bhp. The only problem I have is what to get next for under 30k
To be fair and for what i use, the rs4 is more than ample size wise. The figures are impressive on the 6 and lets face it, surely everyone would love to say they have had a 5.0l v10. There may never be another modern car made like it again.

I'm sure you will struggle to fill the space.

Yup, it was the only thing putting me off. Then reality hit home, I'm not going to be entering a rally in it any time soon.

It's not about being in a rally

It's about enjoying the drive day to day.

I found a C6 like eating cardboard

Really that bad? The thing for me to do i guess would be to test drive one. Finding one close might be a problem though. A chap near by has one. I can't see him agreeing to swap with me for a week so i know for sure. Suppose the worst he can do is say fcuk off.

I have had standard rs4 then a TTS supercharged RS4 and now the latest software tuned MRC C6 Avant -pulling the sub 7 second to 100mph times. The supercharged rs4 is prob the best overall package in terms of power, handling, noise, size etc. However, the way the c6 accelerates from any speed and the unbelievable torque it has is just immense. You don't buy an rs6 thinking it is going to be a car that you can throw around a country lane and the handling is not that bad. The car is big, great for a family. What I really like about it is that most people have no idea what it is!

Made the change, at first regretted it, but now 3 months in, really starting to 'get' the big 6. Having said that, I used to do the odd track day in the 4, wouldn't bother in the 6.

I came from a RS4 - needed a bit of extra space for the family. At the moment I can't really justify having more than one car so the C6 (and soon to be C7) is the perfect compromise. As mentioned it's no sports car but can make you smile when you're alone with a bit of empty road, yet be perfect for cross county mile munching or equally just doing the Sunday trip to the supermarket in perfect comfort.

In a year or two I hope to be able to put something a bit more focused in the garage for the B road blasts, but for now an RS6 is ticking the majority of boxes in one package.

This is why I am apprehensive. I guess I could always buy another b7 should I be that disappointed...

Reading this probably more encourages me. I'm not as bothered if people know what it is or not really. For what I use it for anyway, I guess I am being a little fussy.

That's a bit far from London! Sorry mate. I've come from a 996 (anyone want to buy it?) which doesn't have the same power but handled amazingly well with fantastic feel.

I really don't like the handling on the c6, it's very good for a heavy car and actually has feel but... It's slow, you have to push the weight around and wait for It settle before pushing it more. Meaning you have to be smooth and planned. That's actually fine for when you want to be pushing hard, but if you're feeling more like playing and having a laugh, it doesn't switch fast enough.

I did wonder if 'ramics would help! Though too expensive. I'm probably going to put new springs in. Andy has both and was swearing by them! But then sold it...

Maybe you should try these new anti-rollbars Doug from MRC has got his hands on? Failing that the only way you are going to make much of a dent in the handling is reducing the unsprung weight with either the ceramics or new alloys. Still it will never be a 996...
