Tuned R8 V10 with zorst and filters 580PS vs stage 2 Tuned C6 with zorst and filters 730PS

Exactly neck and neck from 50-160 mph.

But it will depend at what point you start the 'race'.

The R8 needs to wind up to 8500 where as the C6 has bucket loads of twin turbo'd torque

As I've said before I'm not sure I'd call the standard exhaust "<beep>", it's probably had 1000's more hours design, R&D and testing than any aftermarket exhaust. It is a compromise between noise, power & emissions though, and for me it ticks the right boxes. My wife hates noisy droning exhausts and to be honest the older I get so do I. After the remap on full chat the exhaust does have a different note now. MRC described it as like a jet turbine but I think it sounds a little LFA like when you're up the revs. As with all things it's personal choice but whilst I may be down a potential 20-40 bhp I'll take that over the noise.

I'm an old R33 owner too, that's my R33 lurking in the back of the cover:

Ok "<beep>" maybe incorrect....maybe "crap"

I want my car to sound like thunder each to their own of course....I understand the car is suppose to be a across continent missile hence why Audi dumbed down the exhaust.

I couldn't care less how much Audi spent on R and D...and as for emissions....couldn't give a toss!
I know better....lol

I do miss my skyline as there's no noise like it but I'd like to think the rs6 is a grown up version :-)

For me it's sound vs power and typical the wife says sound and I'm a power man so still nowhere hahaha think I will drive it for a few weeks before deciding my first mod

I've stage 1 ABT which is 700 BHP 800nm but I'm thinking to go for MRC stage 2 as I can see there is a gain in torque and BHP. Is it possible to ship my ECUs to MRC in UK to do that as I'm based in Dubai and we don't have MRC over here! what about the gearbox TCU upgrade?

They can't do a custom remap if they don't have your car, it's not just flashing a generic map onto there, they're actually running it up on the dyno, seeing what the fueling and ignition is doing and adjusting it to get the best out of it. There must be decent tuning places over there that could do it?

Good thread this. I'm still really not sure what to do, i'm still concerned about messing my warranty up but really miss the power and noise of my GTR Stage 4. I'm still torn between using Unit20 or ADS (their both really local to me) to stick a stage 2 REVO map on or go MRC for a custom job which seems to give more power both NM and HP? As it seems the REVO stage 2's aren't custom maps from what I've read. Obviously it also means that I have to do the second decat which again is a warranty bye bye time.

Also what exactly does the gearbox software do other than raise the rev limit?

Has anyone driven both MRC and Revo Stage 2?

Gearbox map raises rev limiter and 10-20% quicker changes I believe???

Don't mess about or let distance get in the way, if you're going to tune it, do it at MRC or don't do it at all.

MRC stage 2 map is wasted IMO without the gearbox map - proper difference and keeps every thing in unison. Well worth the money. You will not regret it. :jump_clap: :jump:

Cheers guys has anyone driven a Stage 4 GTR vs a MRC Stage 2 just wonder how they compare straight line speed?

Is it worth going full decat then I could always bolt it back if the car ever needed to be put back to standard? Or just say nuts to it and cut the 2nd cats and back boxes off?

Thanks for advice chaps :)

So here's an example of a GTR vs a 720 bhp C6. The GTR says it's only 510bhp. If it had got a better launch it would have beaten the C6 anyway, if it had been a properly launched stage 4 620bhp GTR I'm guessing it would monster a C6.

With Main cats out, the car passes an MOT. Just had mine done as it expired a few days ago. The old Bill spotted me and gave me a stern talking too but followed me to Audi where I left the car to get the MOT completed.....
