Oil leak question

Evening All

Just wondering if anyone here had the oil leak done under the Extended Audi Warranty and if so which dealer undertook it. Oil leaks requiring engine out are supposedly covered and although it can be now fixed without removal it may be the dealers will still go that way.

FWIW. When I first bought mine, it was 2nd hand via the dealer. Knowing of the issue i kept a keen eye out for any leak which eventually showed within the warranty (not extended just normal 2nd hand etc) the seal was replaced, and the engine was fully removed to address. I'd therefore assume they'd do the same under extended?

Could I ask which dealer? My local Audi dealer responded with “ oil leaks from a seal are not something I have ever heard of” so I am not counting my chickens there! Thanks

Sure,

I used to go to Basingstoke, but the service manager there (Rob) moved to Guildford, and I trusted him so much that i now travel nearly 1.5hrs to get to guildford for service, past at least 3 other dealers that a nearer. Its a trust thing for me. I've had 2 oil seals replaced under his supervision, he also used to be a master tech so knows his way around our cars.

On hearing that I'd brought my car the parts manager at my local dealer asked me if I was aware that they leaked from "a seal at the back of the engine".
