Parts left over - quiz

Post by Jim Haseltine » Tue Jul 30, 2019 4:53 pm

Not normally a problem I'm faced with at the end of a job no matter how big, but for once I'm left with a couple of pieces:
Image
Two T30 flange head self tapping screws, some 16mm long, silver in colour, possibly stainless steel.
From the bag they came out of, I'd expect them to be something to do with the air filter boxes or the fittings around the top of the front bumper. They look as if they should screw into plastic but I can't remember or find where they fit and I can't find them in any of the pics I took when I stripped the car. They aren't the ones that fix the inlet pipes to the air boxes as they are longer, black and in place.
All I have left to refit are the headlights, the front bumper and all the under body panels.
Their position is probably blindingly obvious but for the moment, I'm stumped.
Can anybody identify them?

Jim,

The closest I have found at the moment is;

N 908 170 03

An image is available here (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-vol ... n90817003/), but it doesn't look like the same screw as it looks like it has more of a flanged head than the one in your picture. Also it is 17mm long and yours is 16mm.

Is the diameter of the bolt 6mm?

Spoke too soon - I think I've found it;

N 909 675 02

That looks like it hopefully.

They're 7mm. I independantly found the same part - I'll take a look tomorrow because if those are actually the screws I can't for the life of me think why I removed them.

And that was them.

Just above the 'r' in share and below the rad pipe. I certainly don't remember removing them but maybe it was the only way to get the radiator off. Very awkward to refit with everything else in place.
