Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
Update on the clicking, inner CV joints have improved the feel of the car however the clicking is still there, so thats a bit sh!t
Onwards to see what else we can replace, will see if I can get a video taken so you can all hear what the noise is see if anyone has any ideas as quite literally will try anything to sort it at the moment!

Both of these are long shots but I've had them cause light clicking on previous cars - a loose fitting wheel centre cap and a wheel weight just clipping a brake caliper.

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
Well after a load of dicking about and searching the tinterwebs i found this article: http://www.dba.com.au/tech-article-t018 ... ing-noise/ so we gave it a go earlier. So far so good, cleaned up the wheel hub, disc bell and back of wheel with a sanding pad and reassembled. Will see after a few days if its still quiet and report back.

Old thread but I am sure this clicking is what I am getting on my c7 rs6. See link for video. Does this sound like wheel bearings?

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
sorry on the delay in replying, yes the cleaning of the surfaces fixed the clicking noise. Its not come back since which is a relief!

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
Very common on R35 GTRs, in fact they have two torque settings, street and track. We always run the track setting as it stops the clicking torque is 140-145nm for R35. Its the same root cause.RS6-T28RPH wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2016 7:50 pmWell after a load of dicking about and searching the tinterwebs i found this article: http://www.dba.com.au/tech-article-t018 ... ing-noise/ so we gave it a go earlier. Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
Just thought I'd let you guys know I originally thought I had a clicking wheel bearing issue but it actually ended up just being the heat shield that covers the exhaust and centre drive shaft.

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
more update
looks like my inner CV were knackered again, only lasted 18 months before having enough movement by hand on the driveshaft. Interestingly TPS supplied new OEM parts however were on an exchange basis this time so not sure whats going on here, very suspicious. But on the up side, clicking has gone again.
So in a nutshell, it could be a whole host of things from inner CV joint out to the wheel.

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
My mechanic heard a clicking sound and he put it down simply to a track rod end. I'm replacing mine as a precaution. Will report back.

Re: C6 (any version) Clicking wheel bearing thread
Which manufacturers do people recommend? I'm looking at AutoDoc and there are so many different ones. Anyone replaced theirs with aftermarket parts and have good feedback?
