The next step..Lowering a C6 RS please educate me on best option with DRC

Post by SteveG » Fri Aug 11, 2017 12:50 pm

Hi Guys,

As above, I want to lower the car a little and get some H&R ARB.

What is the best recommended option for lowering one of these a little whilst keeping ride comfort as current ?

Thanks for any help.

best option is set of springs. i looked at MTM ones but KW are essentially the same. you would then keep DRC and the ability to switch damper settings.

Hi Andy,

OK, I will look at the MTM springs. Any vendors on here ? MRC is other side of the M25 and booked up solid for a month :(

You may have issues correcting the camber post lowering because, as far as I can tell, no-one sells a camber adjustable arm with enough adjustment for a lowered car. So you'll start to burn through the inner edge of the front tyres more quickly than before.

Hmm, doesn't sound ideal. Thanks for pointing out Ian.

Don't get me wrong it's not like you'll go through a set in under 2k miles or similar but you will notice a tyre duration difference between lowered and stock.

With standard 20" rims, what are most people lowering their car by without any interference? I appreciate tyre choice but a general view would be appreciated!

Also, if you put 21" on, any view on best lowering springs - 20mm reduction?

Thanks
Pj

I've lowered my as far as it will go on KW Platforms and its rubbed on the arch liners at the rear. Switched to Michelin PSS and now theres no rubbing. Previous tyres were PZero's

Can i ask what you lowered your car by - 20mm around? Also, did you also add wheel spacers?
Thanks

45mm, the maximum the kit allows. No spacers.
