There I am sat in my car on the phone to my brother engine off parked facing out in a bay. Next minute "Bang " Some old dear in a shitty old fiesta has managed to hit the front split the black insert and scrape the bumper . Then has the nerve to say she didn't touch my car. Any way got all the details photos bla. Went off shopping to find her rubbing my bumper with her coat sleeve to try to make the damage go away FFS !!!!!!

Usually you come out to find this sort of thing with no one about.

Sounds like she would have just driven off if you hadn't been sat in / jumped out your car

Had similar happen to me twice. Ages ago I stopped outside an off licence (when such things existed) in a bright yellow Escort to get ciggies, wife still in passenger seat. While paying I and the Shop assistant see my car, handbrake on and in gear, move forward six or seven feet. Next thing a woman dashes into the Shop shouting 'he didn't hit it, he didn't hit it', despite all evidence and witness to the opposite. Her decrepit husband looking sheepish behind the wheel.

2nd time wife and I parked up in a Smart Brabus, steering left on full lock. Anyone familiar with these rear drive/v.small turning circle cars knows that full lock puts a very large wheel and tyre outside the wheel arch at about 45 degrees. Next thing car is being pushed sideways in the parking bay, half into the next bay. Old biddy in ancient Skoda Labia (or something) has reversed hard, square into the protruding tyre. No damage to Smart at all. Entirety of her rear bodywork stove in about a foot, plastic bumper in shards. Again complete denial.

It does piss me off. I know we all get old but old people just have no ability to judge distance and reaction time is far too slow. Yet they tend to get super cheap insurance because they have been driving for a million years. Leaving damaged cars at car parks all over the country.
My parents in law have scratches and bumps all over their cars fortunately due to the constant contact with their garage door posts. I think the most damage caused to cars is car parks I've Tesco and the school pick up drop off car parks

There's nothing worse than parking yourself out the way, then come out to find some utter <beep> wit has parked next to you, normally diagonally in a bay leaving you wondering if they hit your car parking like that!!

Saying that,'probably the same breed of people who, upon joining a motorway, instantly dive for the middle lane, regardless what is around. Would love to sit down and ask these people what the <beep> goes through their mind

OP:

Really sorry about the damage mate :( missus car got keyed recently, and it's infuriating how nobody has respect for other people's things. Trying to rub the damage off? Stupid bitch.

Well lucky I was sat in the car as she would have driven off. Just got back from a week away, phoned the body Shop to collect the car to be told the bumper is actually split at the back needs complete new bumper which is on back order. So glad I went down the insurance route now

Lucky you were in the car. I had the rs6 hit when at a hotel in Wales, the idiots covered the damage on the bumper with lumps of mud! Couldn't believe it, the mud made it even more noticeable.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]. That's terrible, but its also bloody hilarious! Points for originality! Mud you know!
