If it's going to break but keep pushing....it will click out of its housing, the small tab of plastic will fall out of bottom and paddle will work again.....either live with it or get new paddle.
Nice one. I think I'll leave it as it is though so at least it appears faulty when it goes in to the dealer. I'll ask them to sort it. No doubt they will just do the above.

to the oOP, I've had 2 avants now, both pre and post facelift and the inner lights both had the same issue on mine, i think it's universal with the inners, the right ligh makes it obvious etc.
anyone else spotted?

Mine is a facelift and the inner rear lights have lots of what I'd call micro cracks. Would it be the led's causing it?

Theyre oem units but spray tinted leaving the reverse lights clear

You can also film wrap them in light smoke using proper lens film like Suntek. I've just done my GT headlights. :bigblink:
