Gear box

Post by 9kade » Sat Apr 11, 2015 5:20 pm

Hello guys I have a problem with my car every time I put it on manual and I shift around 6100 RPM I feel a lag in the car and the person that I'm racing with starts to push two cars ahead of me eventually when I get into the right gear I start to catch up to him and when I put the car in automatic (sports mode) it starts to lag even more I would reallyappreciate it if any of you can help me with this problem and give me any useful advice

And another problem that I've been facing is when I shift from the third gear to The fourth gear I get a miss shift and you get this feeling that Its just not right and it's not getting in gear and something else that I've been having problems with is that when I accidentally rev the gear to 4000 RPM and leave it there for like 20 seconds or more will waiting to race i get a gearbox engine sign that comes up it would be great if any of you guys have experienced this problem and can help me along with it

I love that sentence. Almost poetry.

To me this sounds like you're doing a "dirty" launch control, revving to 4k and holding the brake and then release.
Your subsequent issues with the gearbox would be a direct aftermath of what you are doing.

Have your gearbox taken apart and checked. I think there'd be lots of material in the ferrofilter....
Please take a picture and post here as well.

If you look on your keyboard you'll see a comma and a full-stop, they look just like these ones - "," and "."
Trying using them occasionally so your posts don't hurt everyone's brain when reading them.

Also, define lag - is the engine laboring during this 'lag' or are the revs continuing to rise?
No matter where you go, there you are.

Any update?

If your gearbox is fucked, then I remember some thread here wrote that the new RS6 gearbox (8 speed) would more or less fit bolt on.
Obviously there would be some (complete) re-write of programming of the gearbox (since there are 2 more gears), but perhaps that would be something to consider?

(Didn't find the thread, if someone else does please link.. )
