£860 seems to be the cheapest I can get a full set. Anyone know anywhere cheaper before I pull the trigger?

Cheers!
Ross where did you find them for that price and are they 275/35 or 285/30 you are going for?

275/35 is what Ive been looking for. Are there reasons to look at 285's?l (sincere question I just looked at whatever the standard tyres are!)

I got my price from Tyre Shopper.

Thanks that's a good price. Works out about £760 delivered. My £860 price is fitted so perhaps I should get the tyres from your suggestion and have my local place fit them for £10 a wheel. Hmm - decisions!

Make sure they can balance them to a high enough spec. Most places just balance to a tonne, with a c6 you need 2 ton! :)

Oh and updates please! These are what I'm thinking about too.

I didn't think they did cup 2s in our size did they?

And is 285 a better choice! Assuming 285 rear only.

Are you on about wheel balancing? Because that makes no sense.

Ballance machines will spin the wheel up and tell you where to stick the weights and how much to put on, down to 5g increments. Weight of the car is totally irrelevant.

Not weight of the car. I meant as in speed.

I get you, but I've never heard of different speed rated wheel balancers.

The guy at protyre said he couldn't balance the tyres accurately enough for 100+. I took my 996 down the road after (closed track obviously) and at 120+ you could feel then being off. I wasn't that fussed as I was taking it for a service anyway and they have a race set up, the difference was smooth as anything up to 160+ this time.

This is my opinion.. I think he's just incompetent lol.
I worked at my dads tyre place a few years ago and balancing really isn't complicated. I did the balancing on my 6 myself, you add the weights until the machine says 0g per side and you're done. I've nearly topped the car out and it was silky smooth.

Quite Possibly :-) at least he warned me he was incompetent.

Sorry for taking the thread off on a tangent :)

I think I read that some C6 owners had moved up a tyre width to 285's.
