I have just had real strip time with my MTM 405 mm front rotors at the Wylkatchem racewars 0-1000m standing start April14, 2014.
A tricky airstrip to race on as only 400 metres of airstrip to brake once past 1000m finish line. Effectively 300 metres once you get onto the brakes
Last year the RS6 ran 250kph and 21.5 secs at the 1000m mark and with standard steels, really had to stand on the brakes , a real "whoa nelly" experience.
This year with a no secondary cat JC Fabweld exhaust, the RS6 ran 261 kph and 20.5 secs at the 1000m mark. With the MTM 405 mm rotors, good braking and no "whoa nelly" experience. Estimate running around 780bhp at the engine. Maybe bhp a little under that as like last year, a typical wheat belt country day temperature of 36 degrees C. Even forgot to turn the aircon off on one run
Sure ceramics are better, but cost a lot more than upgraded steels. I have yet to track, but expect will not suffer fade.
The mighty RS6 won the V10 class seeing off by 11 kph, next best Supercharged M5 and standard Lamborghini Superleggera.
Still not a match in the 0-1000 metres for the winning 1200bhp Nissan R32 with a turbo the size of a dustbin that ran 306kph and 17 secs for the standing start 1000 metres,

but that car was not exactly a comfortable daily driver and came and went on a trailer as a 'special' built for the event. Also ran off the bitumen braking area into the dirt braking area
On 800metre rollon racing over 800 metres from 60kph, the day before, only six cars faster than the RS6.
The RS6 ran even once got off the mark with a modified GTR 35 Nissan that runs 10.8 sec quarter miles.
A pleasing result for the wifey's shopping trolley and the four rings
Off to the 'whoop ass wednesday' night drags this week to see if with no secondary cat exhaust can better my previous 11.4 sec quarter mile time with oem standard exhaust.
cheers,
john
