I have just had real strip time with my MTM 405 mm front rotors at the Wylkatchem racewars 0-1000m standing start April14, 2014.

A tricky airstrip to race on as only 400 metres of airstrip to brake once past 1000m finish line. Effectively 300 metres once you get onto the brakes

Last year the RS6 ran 250kph and 21.5 secs at the 1000m mark and with standard steels, really had to stand on the brakes , a real "whoa nelly" experience.

This year with a no secondary cat JC Fabweld exhaust, the RS6 ran 261 kph and 20.5 secs at the 1000m mark. With the MTM 405 mm rotors, good braking and no "whoa nelly" experience. Estimate running around 780bhp at the engine. Maybe bhp a little under that as like last year, a typical wheat belt country day temperature of 36 degrees C. Even forgot to turn the aircon off on one run :bash:

Sure ceramics are better, but cost a lot more than upgraded steels. I have yet to track, but expect will not suffer fade.

The mighty RS6 won the V10 class seeing off by 11 kph, next best Supercharged M5 and standard Lamborghini Superleggera.

Still not a match in the 0-1000 metres for the winning 1200bhp Nissan R32 with a turbo the size of a dustbin that ran 306kph and 17 secs for the standing start 1000 metres,  but that car was not exactly a comfortable daily driver and came and went on a trailer as a 'special' built for the event. Also ran off the bitumen braking area into the dirt braking area :bash:

On 800metre rollon racing over 800 metres from 60kph, the day before, only six cars faster than the RS6.
The RS6 ran even once got off the mark with a modified GTR 35 Nissan that runs 10.8 sec quarter miles.

A pleasing result for the wifey's shopping trolley and the four rings :D

Off to the 'whoop ass wednesday' night drags this week to see if with no secondary cat exhaust can better my previous 11.4 sec quarter mile time with oem standard exhaust.

cheers,
john

Hi Gumball0r, :bigwave:

Yes that was the RS6.

I thought I had a chance during the first 400 metres, but that was not to be after 400 metres. :notworthy:
Paul's modded GTR 35 well and truly got me, once he wound up.
Great car the GTR 35 that features in this months Perth Street Car.

Oh well, have to tell wifey her shopping trolley should only run against standard GTR 35's.

cheers,
john

Nope, proper brake fluid, and proper pads and a good driving style.

Sorry that my RS6 is not my only car, and not my pride and joy, but I do drive it (hard), and the roads are far better down here than in Blighty, never had an issue with fade. And yes, for me the main purpose of the car is the supermarket runs.... For going fast, the Gallardo, or the 430 is the weapon of choice. :D

You really make me lol fella.... :biggrin3:

Doesn't matter what fluid, pads or driving style... you gonna get fade from the steels if you drive it hard enough PERIOD.

Also, I keep hearing " it's my shopping cart for shopping only yet you want to do this and that to it when it's not your pride and joy... GETTING REALLY BORING.... :bigblink:

QUOTE: "For going fast, the Gallardo, or the 430 is the weapon of choice". ..... Hmmmm, good on you fella, life is a bitch when you have so many choices yet you choose to be on here talking/ asking about your shopping cart all the time.

Peace. :rocker:

Glad I make you laugh. :biggrin3:

Driving style is very important to prevent brake fade.

Sorry you are bored. :boohoo:

I do change cars quite often. Me getting the RS6 was nothing else than a pure coincidence. However, I do individualize all the cars I have.

If you think I spend a lot of time on this forum, you should check out Club Scuderia (Ferrari) and Ferrari Chat, Rennlist (Porsche) and Lambo talk (I have the same username for all the forums).... But yes, true, when I buy a car, I do lots of things right away to it. I NEVER take a car to the Stealer or an indy. I do everything myself, hence the questions. :assflash:

The username stems from the early 2000's when I was driving and tuning 993turbos. Did a complete GT2 conversion on one, not for the fainthearted as you actually have to chop up the wings, with PSS9 and custom turbos and intercooler, 530hp / 750Nm, very fast at that time :D Had several 993's and 993turbos. Never changed the username out pure habit. :sekret: The username looks somewhat out of place on various Ferrari, Lambo, M, AMG, RS etc forums but I keep the same as its easy to remember. :biggrin3:

Porsche is my BIG hobby, Ive had 22 of them in total.... Have more than 100 books about them, and I do restore classic Porsches to sell... I have my own 300m3 workshop. (But its not my job). Just delivered a C4S last week, and delivering a 928GT tomorrow or the day after, so I will only have 2 Porsches remaining, both of which needs to be restored before I sell them on. :jump:

Hi RS6chris, :bigwave:

Apologies to forum as a bit off topic, I take delivery in Sydney of the modded lp560-4 Gallardo with twin turbos now installed in mid May 2014 after final tuning now taking place. Then driving it back to Perth. Should be interesting. The drive from Perth to Sydney to the TT installer, Ramspeed was great.

Performance on street tyres should 'be adequate' :)

Couldn't have the RS6  being faster than the standard Lambo's :)

Have to uphold the honour of the Audi/lambo v10's against the modded GTR35's

Picture of Heffner twin turbo install attached. Ignore the 'blue belles' or the 'floozies' as wifey calls them :bash:

cheers,
john
