Gone to the Dark Side

Post by luffenham1 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 12:48 pm

Its finally happened

After years of S, RS ownership I have gone for a BMW M5

All I can say OMG its a RS4 but the size of RS6, The RS6 always left me dull, whether the gearbox or steering feel.

To all those C6 RS6 owners out there who wants an RS4 in a RS6 size, M5 is the way. Amazing car.

The C7 RS6 maybe equal but due to the high prices, it out of my league.

R8 was the next step but with children and life, its just not practical enough.

Catch you all in a bit, probably backwards into a hedge but at least I be smiling and laughing, something the RS6 could never do. :biggrin3:

I'd say he's grown out of E numbers.

Don't really agree with you regards to the M5 is the way to go from the C6 RS6. I've driven the M5 and the RS4 and non of them are as good as my 6 IMO.

Did you have a stock RS6?
Too much power is barely enough.

M5 F10

It handles like my old B7 RS4, Never driven the new RS4 so cant really compare.

The C6 RS6 is and was a great car for me. Don't get me wrong, Loved the power and how it put it down. It was stock apart from ITG filters. It just never felt that connected to the road as the M5. Plus you can get the back out in ever corner with the traction Control half off.

Also the interior is leagues above my RS6, much better driving position. I guess the RS6 C7 is in the same league as the M5 but its 40k to 50k more than my 2 year old M5.

Never been a BMW fan. Always had Audis, S4, RS4, RS6 and my late A6 Le Mans (not really worth mentioning). But as they say, don't knock it till you try it.

Funnily enough I was looking at F10 M5,s on piston heads and auto trader last night...can't believe how much money they've lost!....some bargains to be had.

I don't know much about them to be honest but they do seem a lot of motor for the money?

BMW pushed them with discounts and cheap finance, hence a lot in the market and used prices are low. Same for Merc.

Personally I'd wait for C7. BMW doesn't do it, especially that Star Trekesque dash. Used to love BMW styling but it's gone horridly wrong in the last 10 years IMO. Just look at the X6 and GT series cars. WTF.

Defo

I don't fancy one.

C7 all the way for me just too expensive at moment for me.

Hopefully il have one in the next 18-24 months.

I've got my C6 just where I want it performance/looks/mods wise(apart form Ramics!)
And I'm happy with it...C7 is the only choice for me in the future and I can't see anything else on the horizon to make me think different?

Although I was also looking at Panameras last night too?....pug ugly I know but I kinda like that aspect of them?

Aye, there's something about the Porka. Next E63 4matic will be worth a look if and when it comes. As long as it doesn't have that stupid grandfather clock in the dash.
