Help req'd - Tyre Pressure Warning

Post by weedub » Mon Jul 15, 2013 5:45 pm

I have started to get a Tyre Pressure Warning whenever I start the car. I have checked the tyres and all are OK. I have displayed the tyre pressures on the MMI and all Ok there too.

Anyone encountered something similar?

Likely a flat battery in the TPMS.

Have you tried resetting in the MMI.

Have you got a Vagcom to get the fault code, and if not, where you located?

What's the warning? Is it actually moaning about a deflation? If you go to the menu with the tyre pressures you'll be able to see exactly what it's moaning about.

It's been warm so could be that something has tipped it over. If the pressures are good, store them and are if it clears.

How old is the car? Battery life is 5 years IIRC.

Yep I took mine to my local Audi guys who are great. Admitted this was on my B7.

I had put an even amount of pressure in each I stead of what was on the door pillar. The Audi tech told me if the car senses a mismatch of 4 or 5 psi it will flag it to you with the yellow warning prompting.

If you haven't already, set the pressures all round to exactly what it says on the door pillar and run a tyre check after a few miles.

Also found out Audi can test each sensor for faults individually.

Good luck buddy
