Just a quick hello.....on behalf of the missus

Post by MidSussexMassive » Wed Jul 28, 2010 9:27 pm

The good lady wife (Gaw bless her guv'nor) decided her V8 S4 was getting a little tired so invested in a '09 RS6 saloon c/o Worthing Audi. Cracking cheese Gromit. Likes her motors, doesn't like computers and interweb.
1st 4 weeks = very happy apart from battery failure and Audi Crawley.
If you see the purple.....yes......PURPLE.....but what a purple, marmite car, love it or hate it - we LOVE IT.....everyone else.....thinks.....ummms.....arrrss.....love it/ "not too sure" around Mid Sussex then it is the wife - give her a wave...but not too friendly!! She is still the wife.
Very interested in the posts back to the beginning, really helpful.
Me - I drive an old battered Merc bus. The FunBus.
Cheers,
Dave & Sal

Beryl the Purple Audi

Post by MidSussexMassive » Thu Jul 29, 2010 8:37 pm

Having mega problems adding attachments - photos are only just over 1MB each and 512 KB is max. I am probably being a little....no....a lot thick.
I'll try and get some smaller size photos and post after weekend - off to Berkshire tomorrow for a little run!

I was looking at that car on the configurator but they never posted pictures up so couldn't see the car but it read like a great spec.

Best bet with pictures is to set up an account on http://www.photobucket.com which is free, upload them on to your account, then copy the link under each picture and insert them into your message on here using the function for each picture.

Hopefully this works -

Thanks for the help P_G - hopefully this should work (managed to shrink the file size) - external piccies only at the moment, but the Volcona leather pack 2 is really nice.
Been on the hunt for a RS6 for a little while and the only stipulation was it had to have the cermaics. So when this came up (purely by chance viewing on the morning it was listed) we stuck the holding deposit down there and then and waited with baited breaths until we saw it in real life. Bit worried, but shouldn't have been. It has really grown on us. A LOT. Still, some people still have difficulty holding down their breakfasts when she drives past in the morning.
She does have pretty much everything on - double glazing (assume not standard as don't have brochure),advanced keyless, power door close (very very nice), solar sunroof (still cannot work out if it works or not....assume it does as not roasting in the car on sunny days just 'warmish'), digital TV (very nice and it actually works with clear picture), jukebox etc.
Like I said, we don't know what is really standard and what is optional - but all the toys get played with to some extent.
Still early days, but (apart from Crawley Audi and the failed battery) cannot be happier. If I was not driving on British roads I would say the 60 - 120 is just breathtaking, but I am so I cannot.
Will no doubt have lots of silly daft questions as time goes on, but the hints and tips already listed (Mitchies v P Zeros) are ultra helpful.
Cheers

(note the battered blue FunBus in the background - now THAT is a motor)

Marmite colour...love it or hate it....there is no in between.

We have had a couple of honest people who have said "you will never, ever be able to resell" - but, to be perfectly honest, we don't care. She is here for the duration.

I think it "what is underneath" that counts....just like a good woman. Banging engine helps though.

Nice pics .. as others say Marmite colour .. would like to see it in the flesh

You'll find the car is excellent at those few moments when concentration slips and you touch on 71mph .. you find it very stable and its easy to get it back down to safe speeds :jump:
