S5 S/Back Auto - lack of smoothness

Collected my "new" 2010 S5 Sportback Auto (47k) last weekend and have a query about some jerkiness when in traffic.

When I'm slowing down to stop in traffic (rush hour bumper to bumper) and going from about 5mph down to 0mph the car doesn't do it smoothly. It feels a bit jerky - not bone shaking by any means, just not smooth. I've just come out of a 2004 B6 S4 Auto which I had for 8yrs which certainly was much smoother in this scenario.

Is this a common issue/feature of the 3.0l supercharged engine and auto box, or do I need to get it looked at? I have had no other S5's to compare it against as they are like "hen's teeth" over here in NI.

I may get accustomed to it in time, but It's a bit unexpected and the only issue in what is otherwise my beautiful new toy!

I wouldn't say that's normal - our 2011 doesn't do that. The box is very reluctant to change down to 1st gear when coasting to a halt unless you're literally doing 1mph or less, so you can get some jerkiness when you set off if it's still in 2nd and you ask it for some power. They're best driven a bit like a manual, so when you lift off the brake to set off, give the clutch time to engage and take up drive before you give it throttle if you want a smoother take off.

Did it have the required oil and filter change on the box at about 38k?

ETA - d'oh! Just realised this post is 9 months old......

A software update solved the problem over the summer, so everything is much improved.
Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
