Insurance and car valuation

Post by Nickyboy » Tue Apr 23, 2013 9:17 am

I am due to renew my car insurance on 2nd June and I have started getting quotes to get the best deal possible. On the comparison sites they are suggesting my car is worth between 33,800 and 38,500.

I bought my S5 on 25th March at an RRP of 48,200 OTR.

Depending on what value I put on my car makes quite a big difference in permium and also allows me to meet the criteria of other insurers. I have been putting in 45k but maybe I am kidding myself and the depreciation is actually significantly more than this.

So, does anyone have an idea of what my car will be worth after 2 months and roughly 2,500 miles? I want to make sure I am fully covered as a priority but I also want to get a decent premium. I only have four years NCD, live in Bristol and I am 27 so the premiums are still pretty high.

Thanks all.
