can someone please help me with this errorcode (RS4 B5)?
Hi Guys! i have a problem with my RS4 B5
i get this errorcode,
17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (usually temp Sensor or Thermostat)
P1296 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
It seems that the thermostat is OK because ill get to about 90degres after about 14minutes slowdriving.
Does someone know where the temp sensor are located? is there only one sensor or 2, ive heard thats theres one black and one brown? not sure.

They warm up quickly. Water temp is up to 90 in about 3 miles of driving when I leave home.
I suspect your stat is at fault

I will check the Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) tonight, i hope thats the one. because it was not that expensive.

il checked the temp today when i was driving to work the temp is att 75 - 80 degrees after 3 miles.

Mine takes 5 mins to 90 degrees C if that with new thermostat.
Before it would take ages to warm up then it would cool down to 60-70

RE: Re: RE: Re: can someone please help me with this errorco
Random misfires can happen for a number of reasons - as the DTC wiki on VAG-COM forums shows... If I were you I'd clear the faults and drive the car as normal, only worry if the engine light comes on stays on with this fault.
Could be something as simple as dodgy fuel, you need to clean the plugs or even new plugs...
Don't worry about it until it's happening all the time...
