hi lads,thinking of getting a vagcom from rosstech ,which software would you recommend for maf readings and fault codes as this is what i'll be using it for , and how easy are they to use ,because i'm a bit of a dinasaur on a computer .ta belly

hi ,i've got an interface from frebay and i'm just downloading version 409 to try it as i don't know which type of interface it is other than usb to obd ii,have set it up, but not reading interface when testing ,any ideas ,cheers belly

hi dippy ,no i haven't got the car with me at the moment ,i'm just on the programs page on test but it just keeps searching,i'm doing this first as a cheapy, but will go for the full version soon ta belly,

You need to download the USB drivers. Can't remember what they are called now, but you need to search for something like "serial to usb drivers".

VAG-COM comes with (real) USB drivers for the genuine Ross-Tech interfaces, but if you are using a 3rd party interface your have to (as Blue Thunder already described) find the appropriate drivers yourself. Usually they come with your 3rd party hardware or the seller gives you a download location, if in doubt just contact the seller - he should know.
