European Headlight Settings?

Post by Tile Diver » Thu Jan 10, 2013 4:08 pm

Hi Folks,

Can anyone tell me if the headlights on a B7 RS4 can be re-directed for driving abroad through Vagcom. I'm now living in France and should really get this if it's an easy fix.

Cheers!!

Have you got MMI? If so look under CAR as that's where I found the Headlight adjustment for driving on the wrong side of the road setting on my B8 S5

Failing the above there may be a switch on the back of the headlight units to switch beam direction.

RS4 doesn't come with MMI.

Do you have adaptive lights? I wonder if their angles can be changed electrinically?

I think I do have adaptive headlights, is there a sure fire way to tell?

When you start the car with the lights on Auto, have you ever noticed the headlights go up and down to calibrate the height?
The adaptives will go left and right too.
Might be easier if you are parked in front of a wall in an unlit area.

Or just look up the code in your serivce book or in the boot that lists all the options. I'll have a google for the code number for the adaptives.

Found it.
If you have adaptive lights:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... Adaptation

Note; altough the title says A6 it has A4 (8E) in the list (and it's in the actual web address).

If you have Xenon plus:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... Adaptation

Note; although tge title says A3 (8P) it is for the A4 too. However, there is a note that says about only a certain model or later versions will work, earlier versions will need mechanical adjustment, but the model it gives is an A3 model :? :?

I change my AFS lights into Tourist Mode (and back) while we're on The Shuttle every time we go to France - takes less than 5 minutes using VCDS.

See http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... e_Light%29 just change the setting in adaptation channel 23.
