Tyre Pressure warning errors

Hi guys. I've tried researching this question on here but still a bit confused....

I have a permanent Tyre Pressure red light warning come up on the DIS. I've checked the tyre pressures a couple of times now and the tyre pressures are fine.

Does this mean that the batteries in the tyre sensors are probably flat? I have an 06 model which I have only had for a year, and am not sure whether they have ever been replaced. Is there any way I can easily check?

Does it make most sense to just take it to an authorised dealer or am I best off just buying some new sensors online and getting a tyre Shop to fit them?

Thanks for any advice

Have you reset the pressures in the computer menu ?

Vag Com should tell you the error code but yes, likely the batteries are flat.

Hi, I'm not sure if I can because the red light seems to block out the functionality on the DIS.

You can - I had this at the weekend. Just follow the instructions in the handbook to reset the pressures to the current value. Fixed my red warning sign...

Anyone know if the sensors are expensive to replace?

80-100 quid each plus fitting and possibly valves.

Can the batteries be replaced or are they sealed units?

Thanks, will give it a go. Fingers crossed. Having to spend £400+ on tire pressure sensors seems pretty punchy.....

VCDS can tell you which of the sensors have dead batteries.

i keep getting a yellow flat tyre symbol with a line through it - comes on for a while and goes off.

Tyres are always ok on pressures - diagnostic just gives a general error and doesnt point the finger at anything particular - any ideas ?

Try looking at the measuring blocks, that's where the details of pressure, temperature and battery voltage can be seen for each tyre.

Thanks for the advice - I reset the values and it seems to have done the trick.
