Oil cooler

Driving home last night and oil pressure warning light came on, was driving over the Kingston bridge (Glasgow) so wasn't able to pull over as quickly as would have liked. Into the garage this morning and they confirmed what I thought had happened, oil cooler and pipes burst due to corrosion. They're going to put a bridge pipe in first so, they can fill it with oil and make sure there's no damage to the engine (fingers crossed).

My question is, is there replacement pipes and connections that you can get that stop the corrosion ie. the same metal as the oil cooler?

I just replaced my lower oil pipe ( cooler and upper hose were fine) after I fitted the new hose I sprayed it all over with white grease on the exposed end where it corroded before.

I posted about replacing the pipes a few weeks back and have now found that the cooler connections are corroded away so it'll need changed anyway. An expensive job all in.

Mine was in Perth Audi a couple of months ago and the tech said there was evidence of corrosion and should do sooner rather than later. Where did you take it in Glasgow? Are they replacing cooler as well as pipes?
