Putting The Feelers Out.... + Parts/Mods for Sale
Putting The Feelers Out.... + Parts/Mods for Sale
I am thinking of dispensing with my RS4 and SEAT Ibiza so I thought it best to put out feelers on here for newbies or visitors to see if anyone is interested in buying my RS4.
As many know who read what I post I wanted to get away from using the RS4 as my daily commuter and bought a SEAT Ibiza last year as a work hack which has been great. However recently I haven't had to make the commute as regularly so there are weeks when both cars sit outside my house for 4-5 out of 7 days doing nothing and as much as I love the RS4, it is now at a point where both are a waste of money.
So it is with a extremely heavy heart I am thinking of selling. I'm not sure what I will go with next, my head says something more economically in one package but the economics of my next Purchase have to ensure it is less than what I am paying now otherwise there is no point. But equally I need to see what I can get for the cars. So the RS4 details are as follows;
2006 (06) Sprint Blue RS4 Avant with standard Optics
I am the 2nd owner, purchased in September 2007 with 16500 on the clock
98638 miles currently but still being used as a weekend car
Full Audi Service History; 1st service at Harold Wood Audi and the remainder including most recent one at 98500 miles at Tyneside Audi
Oil changes every 5-6,000 miles, last one at 94,500 miles, Always allowed to warm up before used hard and spiritedly driven once to temperature to ensure good running
Discs replaced in last 10,000 miles, no visible lip on fronts or rears, running EBC Yellowstuff pads front and rear with Goodridge s/s braided hoses and standard DOT 5.1 fluid
DRC in perfect working order, two front shocks and valves replaced at approx. 32,000 miles and maintaining 15 Bar pressure
Battery well TSB completed
Recaro Comfort seats in excellent condition
Carbon Fibre Inlays
Flat Bottom steering wheel
Tech Pack (sat nav, Light rain pack + Bluetooth) + 6xCD player in glovebox
Storage pack
Manual side blinds (retrofitted)
Heated Front and Rear Seats
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
All usual RS4 options
Wheels are in excellent condition, sealed with G-Techniq C5 and all shod in Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 275/30 R19 96Y XL tyres with 7mm all round having been installed 3-4 months ago. Minor marks on offside front rim, rest are pristine and true; completely stripped and refurbished earlier this year by the Wheel Specialist in Newcastle
What I have done to the car since owning it
AAS non-resonated valved exhaust with OEM tips (OEM cats still in place and not modified) I still have the OEM back boxes that can be refitted
Gruppe M RAM air intake
Auxiliary radiator delete with cold air intake install done by Revolution
Audi DTM carbon Fibre front splitter
10mm H&R hub-centric rear spacers with longer bolts in situ
Audi R8 Oil and coolant caps
Argon Creative pure 2x2 twill carbon fibre right side engine bay cover to match GruppeM
Intake Manifold de-flapped, ported and polish by Revolution approx. June 2011
De-coke at 89500 miles performed by Revolution December 2011
DRL and fog Light bulbs replaced with PIAA bulbs and headlights replaced with 2007 MY (de-tango) versions
I have kept nearly all the OEM Parts that have come from my car apart from central cat back exhaust resonators the car can be put back to standard. What would come with it would be
Spare set of used front discs boxed (rear discs available but need a skim and cleaning up)
Spare set of OEM silver fixed design wing mirrors that need re-spraying due to stone chips
OEM RHS engine bay cover and Oil / coolant caps
OEM air filter box and aux. rad.
OEM exhaust back boxes (2x sets)
BMC panel filters
Spare used set of OEM brake pads front and rear
There are plenty of pictures up here of my car to get people started and those that do their research know this car is maintained irrespective of cost and treated with mechanical sympathy. It is still on its original clutch but no signs of slippage / no problems with clutch return pipe in the years I have owned it and the paintwork is near immaculate having been maintained by myself and Cambridge Autogleam along the way. This is truly an outstanding car, the best I have ever owned and still puts a smile on my face every day I start it up and use it which is why it has been with me 5 of its 6 year history. I will be very sorry to see the car go if it does as it is a fabulous car. Last Dyno run at Motoscope on a Dastek dyno has it at just over 420bhp and 315ft lbs of torque so it is in rude health.
Always run on V-Power of Momentum 99 averaging 22.1 mpg over the last 22000 miles, predominantly motorway miles with a tub of Wynns DIP3 injector cleaner petrol treatment every 5-8k miles put in the tank.
I am looking at around £17,500 OVNO given the condition of the car and the Parts that will be coming with it.
I'll have some pictures up at the weekend when I get a chance to take some new ones / weather permitting but hopefully forum members who have seen the car will positively vouch for its condition.

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
I've been thinking of selling mine but not sure if I'd be gutted when it's gone, drove it today in the rain and thought I can't sell this it's too good, and what to replace it with, my wife is a psychologist maybe she can offer some advise on this condition
Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
Well my thread is still live as I'm thinking of storing mine for the same reason that I'm just not driving her anymore and I've got a rather practical high mileage VW Passat 2.0 TDi that I using and it's quite a good car. P_G I'd definitely buy your car, it is awesome and with the spares you list it's truly a great deal. These cars will do 250k I reckon so somebody will get a great car. I think I'm going to store my car for the winter and see how I feel about it in the spring. I can't imagine the forum without your advice P_G, it is a sad day. GLWS mate.

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
Can only echo what Timdogg says, the forum won't be the same without your fountain of RS4 knowledge P_G but I can understand the reasons for selling. I'm beginning to feel a bit lonely in here now with so many of the 'old hands' selling up and moving on!
Someones going to get a really nice example of a properly maintained, meticulously cared for, RS4 Avant with some tasteful and functional upgrades . GLWS

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
The reality is that I am consolidating. The plan last year and even up until last week was to keep the RS4 for good, wash the balloon out on the PCP that is on it and see what happens in another 2 years. Don't think my retrimmer or the boys at Argon are going to be happy but I'll have to cross that hurdle later!
I can't find an R8 I want at this time which is also hampered by the finance deals available out there at present. Just shows how much the economic climate has changed as the PCP deals I'm being quoted are exactly the same as what I got for the RS4 five years ago but for cars £10-15k cheaper.
I drove the RS4 today and it is still mega and it will be hard for me to part with it but at this time with both cars sitting outside for as long as they are then it is making no sense. Fair enough if the RS4 is for weekends but the SEAT is also getting that way. I had thought just about just selling the SEAT but then when I do have work commutes or to other offices then the fuel economy is a killer.
Not sure what to get as a lot rides on my ability to move either or ideally both cars on. Anyone interested in a Silver 3 door 1.4TDi SEAT Ibiza Reference 2005 (05) plate with 63602 on the clock, just serviced with MOT and tax until next year and genuine 60mpg for a smidge over £3k feel free to PM me.

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
A month ago I would have ripped your arm off for that - you'll get a buyer, don't worry.

Don't be a fool Graeme
I'm only telling you what you would tell me... There is always another way

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
I've looked at all the other options Nick and bar winning the lottery, even a meager amount it is a couple of weights, one for each shoulder. Looks like you may have to fly the flag for the RS4 with the most miles on the forum after RS4Lee.
Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
I'm keeping mine for another year at least Graeme, it's drives better now then the day I got it

Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
I sold mine a few months back, simple fact for me is that it's now a 5-6 year old car, in car terms that's ancient. I deliberated long and hard about selling it as it's such a pleasure to drive but for me owning a car for nostalgic reasons is a decision made by the heart and not the head. The smart move for me was to sell while there was still some residual value in the car and look for something more modern. So it makes sense that people (even the old heads, figuratively speaking) are selling up. A sad day none the less...
2007 RS4 (B7) Avant, Daytona grey
Re: Putting The Feelers Out....
Thanks for all the messages; I am genuinely torn but know with my head it is the right thing to do given my situation. The irony is I've had more PM's about the GruppeM than the car you cheeky buggers!
For those interested in the GruppeM I'll do yu a deal at £17,500 and you get a free RS4
