Driving the rs today, went to change gear from 2nd to 3rd and it wouldn't go into 3rd. Took my foot off the pedal and the clutch pedal wouldn't return

nursed it home (luckily I was nearly home). It will still drive just won't engage the clutch!? Anyone got any ideas? I imagine it will be expensive

That's talking about a heavy clutch, where as I think mine has been ok until today!? The pedal won't do anything? I take it that's it's not a clutch cable on these!? Seeing as you said return pipe?

There was a bit in there about the clutch sticking down and not getting gears something to do with a faulty return pipe. Dunno if it s was after they got hot have you been back out try once cool bud?
I'd search the return pipe bit.

Ah right sorry didn't see that bit, I was that pissed off I've walked away from it tonight but will try it in then morning to see if it works. If so then could be that faulty return pipe! Fingers crossed, does Audi cover it as a recall?

If the car wont go into gear (due to hydraulic clutch), make sure engine is turned off, select gear then start the engine, the car should be able to be driven in that gear, this should be able to get the car onto a low loader or elsewhere.
Sounds like the Clutch return pipe, will most likely need new clutch and possible flywheel...and most certainly a return pipe.

I take it that the return pipe comes from the thrust, through the bell housing to the slave cylinder? Therefore you would have to split it to get to it!? I've got a car lift, can you remove gearbox from underneath? Or is it engine out job? A lot of people talk about putting alternative clutches can anyone recommend any? Thanks for all your help by the way!

A quick bit I read said the return pipe was a simple job so I'd doubt it's box out I'd research changing that first

Just tried it again this morning and still no different clutch pedal goes to the floor, really hard to push about an inche from the bottom of travel. And I have to return it by pulling it back.
