DRL bulb replacement....

There is no easy way, apart from removing the lights.

If you have hands like shovels your are off to a bad start.

It's not easy but possible. The more you do it the easier it becomes as you kinda know where to twist your hand and how much it hurts to do the job. Drivers side is much harder.

PS, the first time I did it I the original bulb came out before I got the holder out the back of the lamp. The more I tried to grab it the further in it went. Needless to say, it is still in there, so be careful as you remove it.

Yeah, I tried to hook it out with a wire coat hanger but it was no good, the damn thing is still rattling around in there.

I have done it quite a few times now as Im trying to find some LED lamps that dont give errors. I am assuming that vestax32 doesnt need help with removing bits to get access but is only having trouble with the actual bulb removal. Half the battle is knowing which way to twist the lamp holder.

It is fiddley and only acheived using the tips of your fingers, right pain.

Mikefish - Can you not fish the original bulb out using a magnet?

Start on the drivers side as that is the easiest in terms of access... If you look at the font of the bulb holder you will see the cut-outs/shapes this will show you which way to turn it - likewise when you put it back use a torch to ensure the holder is lined up with the cut-outs as the bulbs fall out from excessive turning of the holders.

To get the bulb out I used a straightened out oat hanger with some double-sided tape on it was actually very easy to fish out or I got very lucky as thought was going to be a bumper/light off job.

i tried the coat hanger but without the double sided sticky tape. i pushed it so far in that i cant even see it now, think it has gone over to join the headlamp.

i found the drivers side much harder to to because of a radiator / air con (cant rememebr which, but pretty sure it was radiator) hose is right in the way. I tried to remove it but that seemed harder than denting my hand and forcing just enough finger in (that sounds a bit rude).

Which bulbs have you replaced them with, more "xenon" looking ones? Do they bang out errors?

Would like to do this myself but can't seem to find a decent bulb without errors? I'm not keen on the yellow OEM ones so never use my DRL's!

These are the best non LED ones;

I have just fitted mine and they don't throw up any warnings and look a hell of a lot better than the oem ones.......
