RS4 - RS5 Anyone?

I've never really considered the RS5 but my local Audi dealer has got one in stock and I was thinking of taking it for a spin to compare to my B7 RS4.

My main concern is that I will like it and end up buying it!

Has anyone else made this move and can comment?

Cheers!

I have a little girl so rear seat are essential, otherwise I'd be getting a 997 Turbo :audibash:

I'd taken two RS5 test drives before I decided on a lower mileage replacement RS4.
Everything about it was just so numb. Big old bus too compared to the B7.

I thought there would be a mini exodus from the 4 to the RS5 a while back but it never happened.

Mark- I'm not wanting to derail the discussion too much, but what milage were your previous RS4s and what was the differences did you find to make it worth while?

Went from 43,000 to 13,000 ... wasn't expecting a huge difference to the drive train 'feel' through wear and tear, but it was still surprising how similarly the cars drove and felt - very well screwed together cars.

I'd be tempted with an RS5 when the prices drop a little more. Is there a better looking coupe out there this side of a 100k.

I maybe struck down as a heretic but I really like autos, all this clutch thing and stick moving seems a bit last century.........

Have to agree - the A5 shape is very nice. Still makes me look when I see them.
Just wish the RS5 was a bit more.... RS... Bigger arches! Bigger vents! more "GRrrrrr!" (with a capial "GR").
I would prefer the manual but for a day to day car I don't have a massive problem with the DSG. However an extended warranty is going to be a must.

They only really break in after 50k miles. I noticed two points when the useability of the engine was improved, one round 20-25k miles and the other at 50k miles. Hopefully at 100k it will have its 3rd wind!

You can get a decent RS5 for around £45k now, how much do you reckon they would be in 12 months?

The good thing with the RS4 is I really can't see them losing anymore money, especially clean low mileage examples, I don't want to buy an RS5 to spunk £10k against the wall in a year
