Hi Guys,
Well yesterday i got the train all the way from Kent up to Manchester and Boss Performance where i picked up my RS4. Few questions tho guys, does anyone know a good place to locate the OEM gear knobs as mine is looking a little worn plus the OEM front and rear audi badges?
Also do you guys have a place or know of anywhere for tires at good prices and also recommendations on what to go for on the car?
Plus if there is anyone in KENT who knows RS4's alot better than me and wouldn't mind taking a look over the car would really appreciate it.
Regards,
Chris

Sonny's one of the best to ask in Kent, he is much more knowledgable about the RS4 than me, or get your name down for the national meet in July, there were 40 of us last year, then you will be in RS4 heaven.

I've used this seller before (for side badges) and they're definitely original
He's got rear badges for sale, and £17.50 sounds reasonable to me...

I enquired about a new gear knob at Maidstone Audi recently. It comes with the leather gaiter and retails for around £250...I decided mine was fine after that
For tyres try Lepsons in Gillingham. They are good on price and great to deal with, maybe not quite as cheap as the net, but will take great care when fitting and will not damage your wheels.

I have a spare gear stick including gaitor albeit one of the 4 brackets connecting the stick to the cover is broken on it but still works fine. I bought it as a replacement but whilst I am pondering an interior retrim then if you make me a decent offer I may be persuaded to part with it.

Christ, can see why didn't part with your hard earned for one of those, that's just a stupid price.
Cheers for the help on tyres mate, good to know there are still some good local places around

If you could pop me over a photo of it i could be interested mate. Its little things like the gear knob not being just so annoy me.

Pics are requested. One bit I hadn't noticed before is that the metal trim has been forced and a dent made but the leather is fine and there are no marks or scatches otherwise.
Got some RS4 logo mats new and unused in the Classifieds as well if anyone is interested.

You didnt come away with four 3mm worn P Zero tyres by any chance but the alloys are MINT did you? I bought the Daytona one the week before off them and i'm sure the wheels are different!! I'm not joking

They had a bit of paint done and it was crap and i'm being kind. I really wanted the car as previously owned by ChrisRS4 on here and knew it was an amazing car. I havnt pulled them about the issues and have sorted them myself except for one. What sort of warranty did you get. My so called warranty hasn't arrive in the post yet. I'm starting to wonder
Anyway, hope you love your new car as much as i love mine.
Cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob,
No i didn't have four 3mm P Zero's i ended up with mint alloys and Michelin tyres, like new on the rears just with no tread on the front tyres. Below is what boss think is acceptable front tyre wear to drive around on, tbh the tyres below are off next week and sooner the better far as i am concerned. The worst part is the below tyres apparently pass a Boss MOT ok, so im slightly worried at what else just slipped through the Boss MOT's now.
I must say i do love the car and Boss in all fairness were very good, just a shame the little things let them down.
Drivers Front.....
Passengers Front....

I wish the aluminium on the shift knob was dark on the carbon fibre trim cars
it matches the aluminium trim cars nicely, but on the carbon fibre cars it stands out and just looks out of place.

Tyres are fine for mot - it's 1.6mm depth of the whole tread not including the wear markers.
However, you should have got an advisory if the overall tread is down to 3mm which should be pretty much on the wear marks.
Driving a car on 1.6mm tread in the wet is v-scary. The difference from 3mm is downright crazy and I can't see how they can say 1.6 as a minimum.
