Parking sensors

Wod seem the RS4's parking sensors are not as robust as the one on my old B6 S4.

When I bought the rs it needed 2 front sensors.

Last week the annoying parking sensor error beep started again.

Had it looked at and now a rear sensor has gone, however was also told that another sensor is a wearing out.

Having the broken sensor replaced under warranty but told can't replace the sensor that's wearing out under warranty as its not actually gone.

My question is do sensors wear out or just pack up and. An you tell if a sensor is wearing out ?

Thats a good magic trick - wish I could look at an ultrasonic sensor and tell if it was "on its way out".

+1 Sounds like Bull to me.

No way of telling that this kind of component is "wearing out".
Who told you this, Halfords ?

That was my thoughts as well - ultra sonic sensors either work or they dont.

Company in Essex - they fitted my defective fronts - used them again as they knew how to deal with the dealer warranty i took out.

Will give him a ring and see what he says.

Spoken to the tech about the sensors - bit clearer now.

When plugging in the diagnostics it reported 1 sensor out, but in a physical check there was another sensor not working correctly, but this isn't displaying a fault, as they need to send a print out of the fault to the warranty company they can only put in for one as only one showing a fault.

Will just have to wait for the other one to display a fault and then get changed.

You can here them clicking if they work.
Get the other 1/2 to sit in the car, engage reverse & hold foot on brake.
put your ear next to each sensor in turn & the one not clicking is bust.
swap 2 round to confirm it's the sensor not the connector.
get on ebay to buy a new one (any colour) & get it painted locally upon delivery.
No tools required & £30 fix.

Front sensors,
7H0 919 275D,
Question is:
4B0 919 275F the same or an alt part
7H0 919 275A the same as above or acceptable alt? Guy advertising A4 sensor with all 3 p/no's for the sensor.

Passenger front is dicky in mine, is it simply click in and out? Bumper off job or not? I need to familiarise myself with her front end anyhow ;)
