Radio starts hissing when rear demister turned on

Has anyone else had this ?

Anyone know the cause/ cure ?

This is a common problem on the B6 & B7 A4/S4/RS4 platform.

The rear window heater is one of the aerials and the aerial amplifier includes a choke to isolate the interference, when this starts to fail you get interference on the radio when the rear window heater is on.

How do i fix it ??

Replace the aerial amplifier. No other way I know of.

Just noticed mine doing this in the last week or so. Is this an easy job to do yourself or has anyone done it? Part number/cost? Any assistance appreciated!

CURRENT: Montecarlo Blue Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifolglio, 2.9ltr bi-turbo, 510bhp
PREVIOUS: Volvo V60 Polestar, build number 149/700 worldwide - 3ltr straight 6 turbo. 350bhp remapped to 400bhp. Only one of 120 in the UK
PREVIOUS: Misano red B7 saloon, stage 2 map to 425bhp, manifold flap delete, KW V3 coilovers.
