I Found a FAIRLY local Wheel refub company. Went over there yesterday, the guy was very accomodating and happily gave me a guided tour of the premise. They have all the facilities to provide a profesional job at a more competitive price thatn Pristine and Lepsons .... over 100 bucks cheaper infact
Well, i guess the proof is in the pudding so ive booked in for Wed's ... along with some new Goodyear F1 Ass 2's (for cheaper than camskill can deliver for

) to replace those god awful Uniroyals the bloody dealer put on!
However ... still cant decide on the OEM silver or a kind of Silver Chrome as in the S5 link ... cant remember how to post a pic

They're to go on a Daytona Avant with chrome trim ... not sold on the titan rims with black optics + it would be a total PITA to convert ..... thought these would look great though .... but still undecided!

I think both will work,I like the lighter wheels on the Daytona,so it's just down to personal choice.
Maybe go with the smoked chrome to be a little different

RS4pete,
I have a daytona avant with the mat silver trim like you and I think Titan wheels look good.
Have a look at this youtube video of one somebody found in Holland.
If you stop it in the right place you'll get a good idea. I am considering this.

I agree that both would work on Daytona - from looking at endless pictures my simple logic is that dark body colours look their best with silver wheels, and on lighter colours titan can look best. I mulled over wheel colour only yesterday on mine (Avus Silver), looking at chrome silver (like you), high metallic plain silver similar to OE, or a satin aluminium colour that's very close to the mirror / window trim, which I thought might work. For me, the satin looked disappointingly dull, so I've gone OE silver, but it was probably 50:50 with the chrome.
Incidentally, I see you're moving away from Uniroyals and haven't been impressed - I've only had my RS a month, and the dealer put a brand set of Uniroyal Rainsport 2s on before I bought it - they certainly wouldn't be my tyre of choice, and hardly anyone mentions them on the forum, but seeing as they're fresh and I got the car for a cracking price anyway I can't really complain - once I've shredded them I'll probably change. It's my first RS4 and they haven't let me throw it into a hedge yet, but I'm just wondering what your experience was with them?

Thanks Fooker, I did have a browse through You tube (with no avail) for a Daytona Avant with Silver trim n titan rims.
I just think i want to keep the 'shiney' apperance and the titan are probably just a bit to dull looking for me ... the missus 'dolphin grey?' had titan rims and they looked good but not 100% sold on the avant! ... maybe silver chrome will be a good comprimise between OEM silver and titan
Bam Bam ... any pics?? ...

oohhhh ... dont get me started on the bloody Uniroyal! ... on the + side .... (which i guess is also a negative if like me you are too much of a skin flint to change till they are dead!) its taken me 17k to finally kill them.
I had arranged with the dealer to put some fresh rubber on when i brought it ... naively i thought they'd put the OEM Pirellis on .... oh no .... they put those lumps of concrete, obviously this was a fault on my part not to specify. Anyways, I took the car to two different dealers after i got it as i was SURE a wheel bearing was out ... all tested and the bearings were fine ... one dealership just said 'sh7t tyres mate' .. in fairness they have quitened down alot but still. I find the dry and wet grip poor ... athough bear in mind i havent tried another tyre yet (Cant want for the Goodyears

) so maybe the grip is fine and its just me ... however ...i suspect not! ...

The thing is, the decision is difficult because both look the nuts on Daytona! Especially when it's gleaming! That
YouTube video avant looks great. Whatever you decide will be the correct choice. Then you can just change it a year or two down the line again if you fancy... now that you have the cheaper refurb place!

Now that looks awesome! ... I think the optics make it, not so sure if it would look so good with the chrome trim however. Gotta say, Im not a fan of avus but that's be gotta be best looking one Ive seen

I'm also wondering if only a colour change would be cheaper if the wheels have recently been done professionally, as in might not meet dipping in the acid bath, filling and priming. ..... Hmmmmm ... I'll enquire tomorrow.... I guess it depends on the colour.

Cheers, they were titan but i wanted something a little darker and works well with the optics.
I used the wheel specialist and they wanted to take the wheel back to its original state whatever the works involved due to giving a warranty.
I think with Daytona you dont want to go any darker than titan IMO.
