Jesus! My insurance went up 300 quid, so I ended the policy with them, rejoined with same company and it was 150 cheaper. Shocking!

I could possibly be classed as a young 'un. Paying around £1,600 on my RS6+, me as policyholder 0 years NCB everything declared, 21 years old. I got a price being a year older and having had my license an extra year with 1 years NCB and it was about £1,100. If they raise the premium I'll just cancel and take out a new policy with them. I'm quite pleased with the price of my insurance.

Without stating the obvious have you tried the major comparison sites?

Luckily (or unluckily) I'll be 40 at the end of this year, mine's come down from £950 to £700 :-)) - sorry, that probably doesn't make you feel much better!!

Postcode and age major factors.
Good way to see how 'at risk' your area is - get a quote for on street and garages. In my case the quote goes up for garaged as they see it more likely the car will get damaged going in and out of the garage than by a 3rd party.

But insurance is a crappy business - my renewal quote was 60% higher than a price quoted like for like in confused.com. However they agreed to match it as even they couldn't see why it was so different.

We all know loyalty is not good business anymore, if people are too lazy to Shop around once a year, then they will be stung, simple as that!

Having said that, it's also been well reported that premiums have risen considerably of late, so even after shoping about, the best quote i found was £200 more than the previous year (£650 a year now IIRC).

How much??! I'm 35 with 10years NCB living in Cardiff city centre and car parked on the street. £626.
I'm with Sky insurance in Cambridge. They are VERY competitive so get a quote.

If you can let me know what they quoted you would be interesting to see.

Just to contribute: after shopping around, I stayed with Admiral this year. £1089, up from £1000, including the £25 they arbitrarily slapped on for mentioning my K&N air filter. If I moved, the prices where always more and sometimes ludicrous.

I'm more old than young at 32, with 12 NCBs and zero points (that'll be the stealth coating!). Off street parking in Newcastle, business+play use. Lots of miles.

Always add 60+ year old parents if you can, dropped my insurance by 20% (£150)... so on a 10 month admiral do-da, £750 down to £600. I'd not drive the car if i had to pay more than £1000 a year when only doing 5k miles..

I put my wife on the policy which brought it down by about 150 quid. My M3 was much more expensive to insure. I was paying 750 for that with wife on policy.

Sky are good. Ask for Clive, he'll give you a good quote. Just don't vakue the car at more than 25k or you'll possibly need to have a tracker - if under 25k (i.e.24999 they don't require a tracker).

We have both cars with sky and they're excellent. My wife is French and on an EU license as well which is a problem for some insurers but they don't seem to mind. Stick parents on policy too as mentioned above but also haggle! They want your business.

I went for the Admiral Multicar and got the RS4 insured for around £380. Turning 40 this year and living in Northern Ireland (which traditionally has one of the highest insurance ratings in the UK).
