Discs and pads

Post by S4Player » Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:40 pm

Guys I've decided I'm selling the b7 when it comes back from Mrc it will be going back to stage 2 460ps spec the only thing I'm removing is the ceramic brakes so the question is:
Who's the best supplier for new discs and what's the best pads to put on the car? Don't want oe pads as they produce a lot of dust so something aftermarket and good. Thanks in advance

Danny,

Have you got a buyer for your ceramic set up? If not I would consider a swap plus cash using OEM Brembo discs / calipers and EBC yellowstuffs?

JHM do some very good lightweight brake discs and Hawk pads are supposed to be pretty useful aswell. If your selling the car though are you just looking to put standard stuff on?

Ceramics will be going on my b5 track car it needs then at 675bhp 600pounds ft! Noodles I had the jhm rotors and sold them they were good alternative to the big brembo kit. Tbh if the jhm discs were cheaper and available asap with pads I'd put them back on. Failing that just stock discs and yellow stuff pads so the new owner has nice new brakes, I all ready have calipers

I would use DS2500 up front, EBC yellow stuff rear with RBF600 fluid and braided hoses, this set up works fine for me.

Front pads dont have sensors.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Would disagree regarding Pagid pads. Was on Yellow stuff, but annoyingly thought i would save some pennies and buy Pagid when i installed new discs. Brake dust seems much worse now :(
