to me it doesnt feel faster, but it is smoother and the readings say it has made a difference

do a few more runs
no way can you be pulling 207 g per bank
if the mixture is correct and you are pulling 207/160 or almost 30% % more charge you'ld be making over 100 more HP

btw that equates to 4-5 lbs of boost

003 is throttle rpm and timing isn't it?

Thought I'd bump this for GlenRS.

I also carried out a quick test tonight on the way to get Fish & Chips - It was only one pull through 2nd, through 3rd and into 4th briefly. My peak reading was 155.75 g/s, in 3rd gear at 7960 RPM. At the time I didn't think to let it rev out into the rev limiter.

My car is standard, run on V-Power Nitro SUL only, no carbon clean and has covered 46k, it was dyno'd at AMD before Christmas and achieved 380.1BHP.

Alright lads, just done a carbon clean on the 4 after 96k miles an looks like it has never been done before, and decatted precats, there is loads of info on all that so i wont bore you with all that. Im after your mass air flow reading g/s to see if mine is around the normal amount. The reading i have been getting is 151 g/s so using the 151x2 divide by 0.8 formula gives me a ruff 377 hp what seems low but i no that is a ruff figure.
What is your readings please? Or your thoughts on it cheers.
Also i have to take the inlet manifold back off due to another fault. But now i have readings after a carbon clean, shell i remove the flaps/plates that sit in the head and see if there is a diffrance or will it caurse a fault?
Cheers.

my readings were 160 with standard car , so its not too far off, the temp is a bit warmer at the min from the time i did it i think so that will effect the result, not done one since the exhaust but i have a rr day on sat so hopefully its up

Did some logging last night and best I could get was 140g/s in third at 7900. Could I be doing something wrong? Had just cleared all dtc's before I started.

The codes were from updating the rnse. Only thing I can put it down to (the low maf reading) is the maf itself or the map, got it booked in at revolution next week so hopefully will find out for certain. Switched the maf over tonight and going to log some more runs later to see if that changes anything.

Dose anybody know if leaving the tumble flaps out in the head is a good or bad idea? I have done loads of reading on the polish an porting but cant see if its a yes to leaving them out?

have you read my build?

mine have been removed, it only get s gunked up again, reason to leave is that they help stop the jerkyness from cold until warm.

Dug out some old VCDS logs. Most I've recorded is 179.08 g/s at 7880rpm and 7C intake temperature. I did have the water meth at this point which makes for cooler and denser intake air (it was 15C ambient temp).

That's great Tony, about 450 hp ,

I'm going to go out tonight and do some logging with the revolution filter and the OEM and compare

What were the blocks to log

Maf
Throttle position
RPM?

Cheers rick. Im on my way through your build thread to be honest, (rear light install).
So that is the only reason to leave them out? I was thinking of leaving them out an doing a few more logs of maf and see if there is a gain other then just not having another part to clean on a carbon clean.
