Hi all, I'm looking to maybe buy a polishing machine in the near future. I'd be looking for the best combination of price and performance - it'd just be to use on my own car on the drive or in the garage. Any recommendations gratefully received.

Also, I have a cat problem. One of my little darlings insists on walking all over the bonnet of my car during the night and is slowly making a mess of my paintwork. There's no way for me to prevent it so I'm thinking of getting a cover. As above I'd be looking for the best compromise between cost and performance. Anybody help?

I've always used specialised car covers for mine.
Worth the expense - cheap badly fitting covers move about and make more of a mess than a cat

I know some people here don't like covers but I'm impressed with my indoor cover from coveryourcar.com

Machine Polishers; if for personal use get a Dual Action, can't do to much damage with Audi paint with one of them but you will need agressive pads and poilsh to get the best finish. Cleanyourcar do a DA which is simialr to the DAS6 Pro, more power and higher rpm potential, alternatively use a Kestrel. Same as a Meg's G220 however better reviews and more people use them. If you are feeling brave get a rotary but you have to be pretty handy with them.

As for car covers I'm looking at one as well after I have had my cra reconditioned but would wlecome recommendations from thsoe who have them. Car will be sitting in a secure yard but is outside so need an external cover.
