need to top up my engine oil,whats are you guys useing?

Mobil 1. On offer at halfords at the moment.

You could use any of the following

Castrol Edge / SLX Powerflow III
Mobil 1
LiquiMoly Top Tech 4200
Quantum Longlife III

All have the necessary approvals. Most use Castrol or Mobil

I use Castrol Edge SLX III 5W-30. The important thing is that it is VAG 504.00/507.00 rated.

Fuchs Titan

Fuchs is a very good brand.
I like Silkolene too but not sure if it has the ratings (but I wouldn't worry too much as it's generally considered like fuchs to be superior to the normal premium brands like mobil 1).
That being said, mobil 1 and castrol edge are fine in their own right.

I would top up with the same oil that is already in. You can change your oil when an oil change is due.

I've always used Fuchs Titan

Iv been using Shell Helix. My dealer who does the work has swapped to Castrol now (more expensive) so I will be looking at alternatives.

Did not silkolene and century oils merge to become Fuchs

What's the offer on mobile 1 in Halfords? The last lot I got was from Asda about a yr ago for only £32 per 5lt. Not seen any that cheap since. Costco seems an excellent price. How do u join that place?
