bucket seats.

Post by MarkMRS4 » Tue May 31, 2011 2:21 pm

New to the forum here and have a question about the seats ..

when not in sport mode... seats move fine and all functions work...

sports pressed, seats move into position, but still can be tightened up more.

however no matter when i set my seat in sport or not , it never holds its position, it always relaxes to maybe a standard position after a few minutes.

My cars in Audi glasgow as we speak, but they say they have no problems the seats?

anyone had the same problem?

any help would be appreciated.

Mark

Are you talking about inflating your bolsters? Sounds like the air is escaping. Do a search on this forum as it has been discussed before.

I have same problem, upper bolsters deflate after short time period. Car currently with Audi dealer and driver seat removed and sitting on a jig for inspection and repair. Will report back when I know what was wrong.

Glasgow Audi and seat bolsters dont go well together im afraid, and if you throw Audi extended warranty into the mix it gets even worse. Had no end of problems with them when they tried to repair mine. Everyone else seems to have little or no problem at their dealers. Put it this way Audi warranty were refusing to pay out as they thought Glasgow were taking the p*ss.
Take it to Ayr instead.

Erm this seems to be everybodys complaint, i have read a thread that when you press the sport button they enflate to let you know the system is "armed" then they deflate slighltly and then they load as to which side needs it when cornering, i did try this but was having so much fun i couldnt actually tell which way was up let alone what the bolsters were doin :D

Like Scottie says, dont give Glasgow the time of day, go to Ayr, Perth, Stirling instead.

But they are all part of lomand audi group so you are just travelling longer to give the same company money. Their is a brilliant audi independent in Clydebank. A for audi it's called. Especially if warranty is no us.

Yeh i know they are part of the same same group but i dont think that means anything - for example you can get different prices for a service from each of them. So far, for me anyway, Ayr just seem to care more, that the best way i can describe it. Plus the beach is great for walking the mutt while i wait for the car :)

I know about A for Audi - i intend to give them a shot when the next big non service job comes about. Glad to hear another recommendation for them.

I went round this little issue a few times but my dealer did get there in the end to be fair, not before we went through a few challenges (3 workshop bookings!) in getting the exact issue understood and diagnosed.

Just fyi in my case the bill for changing pumps and valves in both seats was £1600 plus several goes at getting the leather put back correctly.
Techs aren't trimmers!

I have turned the auto activation on sport 'Off' simply to reduce the chances of all that aggro again lol
