About to become an RS4 newbie owner :)

Post by mckay04 » Sun May 22, 2011 8:21 pm

Hello to everyone,

placed a deposit down on an 06 RS4 saloon, 51,000 miles. anybody got any ideas for things to look at when i go back to finish the deal, does anybody know the car YH06 ZTC wrapped in white, phantom black underneath. Has miltek exhaust, gruppe M induction system.

Anything i should know about these cars in general always loved these cars, had R32, Focus ST's etc so big step up now to proper cars

thanks for any info in advance looking forward to picking her up and posting on here. Have looked at buying guide which was very helpful!

Hi there, seen that car on pistonheads for a while, looks nice, good spec. Look at the checklist of things at the top of the B7 pages gives good advice. Hope all goes well with the deal, you'll make a lot of people on here jealous with a gruppe M! lol

Welcome to the fold fella, did you test drive the car?

Looks like a good car, and a great spec, esp with the most desired mods.

I seem to recall the red stitching on the gear shift and steering wheel, is this a forum car?

Also worth asking what the service history is like (ask to see service book) and if all the service campaigns have been carried out (again this should be stamped at the back of the service book).

Did you try the car in sports mode? If so did you hear the difference and feel the seat bolsters move?

Apart from norm pre-car checks, its worth looking at the conditions of the discs esp the fronts.

Has the car been remaped?

ye services seem all fine and upto date.

the sports button moved the seat bolsters and i think the exhaust seemed to get louder so presume that this means all working.

been told there was a remap but it was removed when he put the sport cats back in as was too loud and was showing a warning light to with cats.

hopefully picking her up fri/sat. rather excited to take her home and wash her haha sad i know but love washing a new car for the first time really get to see what condition its in. although from what i can see is mint.

o and hasnt been lowered but has got rear spacers on.

not even got it yet but planning what i can do to it.

any ideas????

i was thinking titanium grey alloys and redo the carbon roof wrap as its the old style looks more like a picture of carbon fibre as the new style is textured so looks more real and feels it too.

First port of call should be a remap imo.

Titan alloys will work too. Agree about the roof wrap.
