I heard there were about 10,000 world wide... but in the UK, I'm interested to know...

We've been round this loop before ... a few months ago I posted the worldwide production figures (taken from the Audi Annual Reports) but Audi UK don't respond to requests for UK figures - so it's all guesswork.

Diminishing rapidly by the number written off and occassionally stolen to order if you believe everything you read. IIRC 3500 was around the number quoted total in saloon, Avant and Cabriolet form.

Yes they do Dave, 1703 total saloons sold in UK.

1703 now thats impressive, do you know what the Avant and cab numbers are?

No i only asked about saloon numbers.

This is the guy i e.mailed to get the info but this was on the 6th May 2008, he may not be working for them now but you can always give him a try.

Saloons is only part of the story though, I'll PM you.

I've looked at the website he linked to and it appears to give numbers for the B5 RS4, B7 RS4 saloon and B7 RS4 avant but the B7 RS4 cab doesn't get a mention.

At the end of Q4 2010 in the UK registered there were:

484 B5 RS4s (all Avants)

1434 B7 RS4 saloons
1481 B7 RS4 Avants
???? B7 RS4 cabrios

I've replied to Ian asking him to help with obtaining the numbers for the B7 RS4 cabrio.

good work dave......i am surprised there are more avants than saloons....i would guess at no more than 500 cabrios

IIRC there was a figure circulating of 3500 total B7 RS4 allocation in all guises so that would suggest given PetrolDave's numbers there are around 600 cab's?

if 600 cabs in circulation but only c. 20 for sale at any one time .... thats only c.3% of the stock

2,900 RS 4 avant/saloon in circulation, c. 150 for sale at any one time .... 5% of stock

on that basis I'd say 400-500 cabs were sold

Also means there were 269 saloons stolen and/or shipped abroad/written off between 2008 and 2010, that's average 10 every month !!
