Warranty Direct - £610 a year?

Hi All,
I have just had a call from Warranty Direct as I used to have a policy with them on my BMW E60 M5, which needed it for peace of mind even though I never used it.
They have quoted me £610 a year to cover my B7 RS4, which includes this 'wear and tear' cover and also service and MOT cover.
Sounds good as it's half the price of Audi, at the moment I just fly by the seat of my pants and would find the money from somewhere should I need to.
Decisions decisions!!!

I may be wrong but I think these guys only cover up to a £1000 per claim.

The quote included claims up to the maximum value of the car!

I've paid 750 or so... for the full cover for high performance cars - cover is always up to the value of the car.
you have to call them and insist them
still... the one time I tested them...they didn't cover pipes!! I told them next time I am out (sort of Dragons Den style)

Sounds a little too good if you ask me. Just a couple of months ago when a similar thread appeared the cheapest avail was around £750 if I remember correctly. I don't think anything has happened in the insurance world that could bring the premiums down that substantially.
I'd make sure everything is included and it's not a stripped down quote.

yeh andre3000 is right, £750 was typical a few months ago. For this price most get cats, sat nav, ice all included which isnt standard. 0% monthly payments cancel anytime.
My 1st year with them is up next month and im not sure if they will adjust the price from the year before, with the car being a year older, or just carry on with the DD payments. We shall see.
Quite a few on here are with them now but i havent seen a post about any successful claims or more importantly unsuccessful claims.

I'd be keen on something like this. Think they'd cover the DRC failing after the 5 year good will warranty? Just having one shock replaced next week, but from the sounds of things, it or the others will go again after another day out in the car.
Just called them and they quoted £775 with Audi main dealer repairs for me. With A £60 up front inspection thing done by Scotia. Seems like a fair price to pay to have to worry about paying for any shocks or gear boxes!

Surely this is worth the money, if a shock goes it's paid for 2 years of this! I heard a whole new DRC system could cost £8000 for example!?

I would tread carefully with this one,you have already someone in the thread had claims knocked back. Many items such as Drc etc will be argued as wear and tear consumables such as tyres and brakes come claim time.£610 is very good if it does what it says on the tin,but you usually only find out afterwards if it really is protection from big bills, you mention gearbox failure? Ive only ever heard of 1 fail so would presume there will be plenty of breakers glad to turn one into cash for not alot if you were unlucky enough to be number 2

I recently went with WD but am slightly worried about it and feel I may have made the wrong call, was in the Dealer for an engine warning light on the other day, they couldn't find anything in the end but I was down £100 which would have been covered by the Audi warranty. So I don't need many spurious £100 visits to have eaten up any savings I amde by going to WD. Just my 2p's worth.

Im guessing the £100 was the diagnosis? WD does cover this if a fault is found (that is covered by their warranty). If nothing was found the extended Audi one wouldnt ave covered this either. I know from experience.
However sometimes if you catch them on the right day and ask nicely, the service guys might wave their diag. fee.

As I said they didnt cover my first claim for the fuel gauge.
When asked about DRC the guy put me on hold and then told me it's something they would NOT cover
Not overly impressed but hey... Will give them another try and next time they don't cover I'm out

Just spoke again with WD, they stated to cover the DRC, it would need to be the Prestige Luxury Care or something, this means, if the item IS NOT listed in the cover, then IT IS covered.. and the DRC is not listed here. It is an upgrade, but with some chat you'd get it for the same price as the Prestige only cover.. something to consider.. £775 I think.

Yeh that brings it in line with what the rest of us are paying. Just checked my policy and that is the name of the one i have. Think it is their top one? Might be car age limited - there was something like that when i was getting mine a year ago.
My car is in on Monday at the dealer so i might be giving them a run for their money soon. This will determine if i take it on for a further year.
