Post by Guernsey70 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 5:30 pm

Can anyone tell me how to stop my breaks squeaking at slow speeds?

Thanks

Have you had your pads checked? Could be they're getting low and / or the wear contacts are scraping the disks.

Don't quote me on this but as I understand it this is common when you use non genuine pads that don't have anti screech pads fitted (a thin layer of padding that goes on the non contact side to stop screeching as the pad vibrates against the calliper under braking)

this can happen when doing a lot of town stop and start driving take the car out on a back road and stamp on the brakes a few times this should get rid of any build up from the pads cause but stop and start brakeing

Too light and the top most layer of pad materiel can harden and causes a squeak. Get some heat into pads and do some nice long stops without actually stopping to clear them up.
