Why do our cars attract f###heads

Post by RSKiwi » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:40 pm

So on Sunday I was on the A406 in a 40MPH zone, its typically very busy and pouring with rain. What do I get but some w@nker in an M3 convertible sitting on my arse wanting to race.

I pulled over into the left lane and he passed me and I dropped back into the lane to pass the cars in front of me and then this guy flashes his hazards slows right down to get me right behind him and then goes for it. At this stage I can barely see him due to the rain and this guy is dropping in and out of traffic and disappears ahead with the flash of peoples brakelights as he freaks them out.

I get tired of this <beep>, yes if we are on a nice big open motorway or quiet windy clear road Ill have a laugh, but in the rain, surrounded by people in a 40MPH zone quite frankly you can f**k off.

This guy looked about 40+ years old...supposedly being younger I am meant to be the reckless, Audi owning c@ck.

Dont get me wrong I have been there and done that when I was about 17, stupid and driving a crappy car. I sometimes marvel that I am alive, but even back at 17 I am sure I was only an idiot out in the countryside of NZ.

Does anybody else get these idiots wanting a go or am I just getting old?

Lol, serves you right for not buying an avant :D ...I only ever get thumb ups!

Nah, but seriously a week or so ago there was a post on here from an M3 driver with some YouTube vids talking sh1t. I don't like to stereotype, but they give themselves a bad name. The words chip and shoulder come to mind.

I do have an Avant!

I agree we also get credit for our cars too, the dickhead factor is not limited to M3 drivers either, Focus ST drivers are another group on my hit list, annoying as I actually like many BM's and the Ford RS series..ST no but RS yes.

I drive around london and don't get that much attention aside from the odd look from some kid, perhaps due to veyrons and astons flooding the streets anyway
quite happy as I didn't buy this car for recognition :blackrs4:
actually at night on the street is very discreet, which is all very good
"you can be my wingman anytime!"
"bullshit...you can be mine!"

I was about to write that it was the discretion that I really like about our vehicles but then the realisation that I own a bright blue car means that subconciously I dont really believe it or I really wanted it, discretion that is....

not meaning to detract anything from your car, Blue and Red aren't the most discreet colors :biggrin3:
I think the stealth award goes to the daytona or even more avus

Absolutely....discretion only works if the car colour is discreet. Hence why I bought Avus and haven't had any issues with BMW drivers. :D

I think that comes with just owning a high performance car, you will always get "Dickheads" wanting a race. The good thin about our cars is that they are discrete, and only those "in the know" know....Take it as a compliment. But you did the right thing, just continue on, knowing that you are the real King of the road, he probably got the ass as you did not want to play lol
